Small world, eh? Actually, i like the cider mill in South Lyon too - i'm pretty sure it's there that you can actually watch em smash the apples for the cider. Maybe i'll have to look up where the hell the Franklin mill is. Of course, with so many great ones within 20 minutes i should be happy... lol Ok, so a nice, fresh, hot donut can't be over rated i guess... but i sure as hell could go for a caramel apple after all this talk.

p.s. I only like the cider donuts that don't have sugar crusted on the outside, I like them just plain ole fried golden lumps of dough.

Yes! lol Either... As for the donuts... just sugared... or cinnamon... oh hell - now i'm trying to figure out when i can fit in a trip to the cider mill! edited cuz i got all excited and mixed my apples and donuts

I so agree with Kitty , I am trying to figgure out when I can get away to get to a cider mill now too...... I can almost smell apple cider sitting here in my office....... hmmmmm maybe I need lunch.

I got my sour cream doughnut!! And there are crullers and pumpkin ones too, from Knapp's in Rochester. Yates cider mill is right down the road from me, but I haven't been in ages. Deadly deadly BEES yanno...[8\|] I love the hot doughnuts crusted with crunchy sugar, no cinnamon! Not a fan of apple cider, though. Apples are just not a favorite food for me. PEARS, now there's a fruit worth eating!

i think i've been to Yates before - maybe 4-5 years ago... bit of a drive from here... but not too far from work - unfortunately, i get off at 7:30 am - a lil early for a trip to the cider mill.
