OK, I appreciate that you asked the question. Let me just give you my first impression, no offense intended.

I'm a bit put off by the "Willing to serve someone amazing." What, I have to sell my amazingness to you? With all the other boys lining up down the block and around the corner? Why would I bother?

And what do you consider amazing? Looks? Wardrobe? Skill? Chemistry? Intelligence? Charm? Social lubricity?

Use your profile to sell yourself. What can you offer a Dominant? Auto or computer repairs? Pedicures? Housework? Yardwork? Utter devotion? Pain-sluttiness?

Just FYI, in case it occurs to you to add, the very last thing I want to hear about from a male submissive is his talented oral service (see my journal for elaboration).

Good luck in your search.

Hmmmmmm......    She said "Pain-sluttiness".....

Nothing I say can ever get a reply for dommes I write to...Is there something specific I am missing?

1.  Grammar.  Nothing I say ever gets a reply from the dommes that I contact.  I am not an expert and correcting dangling participles is too hard for me to explain.

2.  There is nothing on your profile telling anyone anything real.

3.  Purely my personal taste.  Hanibal Lechter didn't eat your face.  I'm glad to hear that, but it's gross.  The attempt to show humor is good.

4.  Any more critique would need an actual sample of what you write when contacting a domme.

Basic suggestions, read her profile, only contact someone that shares a majority of your interests, mention shared interests, say something about yourself that is kinky, say something about yourself that is not kinky.  Don't contact people who state that they do not wish to be contacted.  Do not contact people who state they are subs if you are looking for a domme.  Show common courtesy at the same level that you would to a new person you met, at your mothers house, while a priest was visiting.

Good luck

Chia... you need to come sit a little closer to me and tell me all about this.

See its me.

Haha now can we end the notion that, thats a stock photo?

I only did the chest shot to show that I'm not some obese person and that I actually take care of my body.

You've now publically linked your face to your screen name. (collarme forums show up on google). So, now, it's just a small step to put that photo in your profile...or to edit that post, if you can.

StaceyTheBitch -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 2:58:37 AM)

You have got to be kidding me?

Lets say theoretically you sent me a message. Lets say this message had two sentences with the first sentence saying you were far away and the second sentence describing how you would spread your cheeks for my strap-on.

A two sentence message saying nothing+ profile saying little= almost no chance of response.

Even if in this theoretical message you used the proper greeting it would not be enough to offset the lack of information.

The above was all theoretical.

p.s. I wouldn't bother responding to the "that's not your picture" police. I got the same line. It's the standard greeting by some here who think all good looking people are fake. Just ignore them and move on. You will never convince the "you are fake" police you are "real" unless you show up at their front door and their mother allows you into their basement.

Edited to make note....If this theoretical message to me arrived AFTER you made this forum post and after all the replies to date, well, it would show me you have learned little from the information you received in this thread.

MsStarlett -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 3:47:57 AM)

Would you like me to point you toward a couple of "Fake Photo" profiles?  These are guys that I exchanged mail with several times but refused to send any OTHER photos of themselves.

(I believe the OP here is honest about it.  But lots of people are fakers.  Sometimes, they are rather difficult to spot.  But because of the fakers, it helps the REAL people to not look like fakes.... if that made any sense at all.)

Not necessary MsStarlett. You are 100% correct when you talk about many fakes being online. I have already run into one sub female that I am certain is a guy plus there are a few other sub females that are acting a little strange.

What I was pointing out was it is the habit of some forum people to greet new people with the "your picture is a fake" greeting. I've seen the same few people do the same thing over and over and I've only been registered 12 days. I did go back into these peoples forum histories and notice a pattern of the same behavior (actually Cindy did it for me, she is OCD and loves it). I now try my best to avoid these people, especially the ones that have nothing substantial to offer to the OP.

Greeting people on the forums with "you are fake" or "liar liar" or "your pic is a fake" does nothing to the fakes (they don't care) but it insults and in some cases drives away the non fakes. On the forums it doesn't usually matter if the persons pic is them or not. All that matters is the question and their subsequent post.

Excuse me going off on a tangent here but this "you are fake" thread jacking routine by some seems to be all they have to offer and it makes me a little Bitchy.

Stacey

opposingtwilight -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 5:43:36 AM)

No one on the forum has ever accused me of using a fake and I think I might be a little bit good looking.

Or well ... OMG ... Wait ... No one accused me of using a fake picture. Am I ugly? Ah man, why did I even read this thread? I've got a job interview to go to in twenty minutes and NOW I'm paranoid that I might be ugly because no one here on the forums accused me of using a fake picture.

-sniffs-

Fine. Ya'll are ugly too. So there.

To the OP, I like your other pic.  (The one you linked to.) You look friendly and inviting. Likes the kinda guy a girl would want to hug and stuff. I would suggest using that pic and if you don't want your face shown, I can blur it for you or put a black bar or whatever. Its just a better pose, more natural and there's an actual background behind you which helps A LOT. Or you could do all those things yourself. I was just offering. :)

-ever helpful-

Edit: I made a mistake. :)

StaceyTheBitch -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 5:48:43 AM)

opposingtwilight You have beautiful legs and they would look great in a skirt. Are the legs really yours?

I do love your profile name.

LadyPact -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 6:03:54 AM)

I got a little lost there between the profile writing and the mail writing that I had to go back and reread the actual OP.

You didn't exactly mention what you are writing when you are contacting people.  Don't get Me wrong, having a decent profile is important, but if what you're sending via email are just one liners, or things like "hello" or "you're pretty", the person on the other end probably isn't going to look as far as your profile.  When I get any of those kind of things, it's not likely to get a response.

If you seriously want to talk to people around here, when you write to them, find things that you have in common to discuss.  Read their profile and say what attracted you to it.  Say why you are contacting that person in particular.  You don't have to write out your whole life story, just a few lines.  Make sure your spelling, grammar, and punctuation are correct.  Skip the text speak and the slang.  They aren't popular with most Dommes.

I hope this will help.

tttdawg -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 9:02:47 AM)

The reason I cut my head off rather then bluring it is because EVERY time I tried to blur my face or distort it CollarMe.com would reject it.

So I was like fuck it, I'll just cut my head off.

opposingtwilight -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 9:19:26 AM)

Why thank you, Miss Stacey.

Alas, the legs are on lease. Hopefully I can get my contract renewed! -grin-

(Feeling ever so much more secure now.)

CM can be strange about profile pics, dawg. Hopefully some of the advice here will help ya out though!

MySweetSubmssive -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 10:15:23 AM)

FR

When I read your profile, I think, "He's been on here for three years and he doesn't have anything to say for himself?"  If you have nothing to say about yourself, why would I want to chat with you?  Or should your headless pic be enough to make me respond?  It's as simple as that.  Unless the email you sent me was fantastic, I wouldn't hesitate before deleting a message from you.

On the positive side ... I like someone with a muscular intelligence, someone who can paint a picture of himself, who knows (to a certain extent) who he is.  What does D/s mean to him?  What is he looking for?  Does he say something that makes me laugh?  I liked the part about serving someone amazing.  But ... show me that you are amazing.  Here are a few profiles I like: pixelslave, aidan, Morsigil, pinnipedster.

boyforyouruse -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 4:41:46 PM)

triple-t dawg does bring up a good question though: Why does collarme reject photos with blurred faces, but let chopped off heads in just fine? I managed to squeeze in ONE blurred face, but I'm wondering if the image reviewer fell asleep at the mouse and it got through on accident. God forbid I ever change my primary photo now.

Also, it seems like you cant reorganize the order of your photos.. or am I missing something?

I feel bluured face is better than cropped head or big black dot head.

StaceyTheBitch -> RE: Shitty luck or just bad writer? (7/17/2008 8:27:25 PM)

Blurred faces can be unblurred. I saw how they did it on the news in order to catch a child predator. Maybe collarme doesn't allow blurring because they are aware of this fact and they are trying to protect their clients. Just a wild guess, I don't really have a clue.

tttdawg. I see other guys wear a hat pulled down and they have their head tilted so you can't see any on their facial features. You might try that. It would look more natural than a headless body. If you're going to be headless you should at least be on a horse.
