what is it with men and remotes?
Jim will spend 20 minutes looking for the remote as opposed to walking over to the TV to change the channel.
And LORD FORBID the batteries give up the ghost...

How true......remember the days when the only way TO change the channel was to get up????  That was the only way some men ever got any exercise!!!!

Reminds me of my first foray into the Internet.....I had a webtv unit, and my son came over...he thought it was great to be able to surf....but when he first saw it, he was looking around on the TV shelf.....I aked him what he was looking for, and he wanted to know where the printer was......I didn't have one...his next question....."Well then, how do I get the information for my homework off the web?"...my response......"Jeez, maybe PENCIL AND PAPER?????  It's how we did things in the Stone Age, kid!!".  AND we had to go to the library and actually READ the books!  OH, THE HORROR!!!!

Shadow-tiger -> RE: The Corral (8/2/2008 2:31:08 PM)

Amusingly both my tv and dvd player require a remote to be used. The tv's power butten broken.. as in it popped into the damned thing. No remote, no power. And the dvd player's open/close button just stopped working spontaniously.

Heh, that bit about the pencil n' paper is great. Makes me think of a great paraphrase.

"With great technology comes great lack of common sense."

Back in high school there was this kid who asked for my home number.. which I wouldn't give him. Then he asks for my cel number.. like ohhkay.. and then my fax?! Because everyone has one at 15 right? (This is like 20 years back)

Damn Tiger....so whattya doing?  Just staring at a dark TV set?  2 words....UNIVERSAL REMOTE.......even I can program one, so anybody can!

LadyRainfire -> RE: The Corral (8/2/2008 2:39:40 PM)

[8D]  Or you can get a life and play on CM..... Ignore the TV. It takes away your time from the boards.

Shadow-tiger -> RE: The Corral (8/2/2008 2:49:00 PM)

heh, got a universal remote. Just saying that if I lose it I'm so out of luck. Not that we have it set up for local channels or such. Video games and movies baby!

soul2share -> RE: The Corral (8/3/2008 11:49:21 AM)

Well, now that the TV isn't in the bedroom, I haven't really watched it much......I used it mainly to fall asleep by for the noise.  I do have the DVD program on my computer, but the problem there is I haven't figured out how to set it to go ff automatically when the DVD is done....it just cycles thru the menu.....and depending on the sounds, eventually, they incorporate in to my dreams.....scared the sh*t outta myself once when I forgot to set the sleep timer on the TV after watching the Exorcism of Emily Rose....the sounds on the menu page are her grunting and screaming during the exorcism......man....never will do that again!  Woke up yelling and hollering with her!  Scary...and this is coming from someone whose DVD library is mostly scary horror flicks!
