we use terms like Fantasy.session.roleplay.task..
Some one may have a Fantasy to be tie up in a house the question i ask myself is this is that a Fantasy but a desire  ?  a session is something that happened.  a roleplay is a fantasy but is also in part a session  and a task is sometimes in which we do and fullfill both Fantasy   and session  BUT now comes the question  what do all terms mean to you ?
all those three words have differnt meaning and maybe to subjective experience(s)) maybe even to confusion since we use these words in BSDM realm are normally have a sexual meaning ..and not in the every day usage of these words..

The only one that has any real meaning in my daily life might be task. Even that is not the first word I would use to explain something I want done. Example: "I am going to give you a list of things I want done."  I do not say, "I am going to give you a list of tasks."

The rest is just not my style. Instead of session, I might say........."come on, we are going to have a little bit of fun"

I don't roleplay

Fantasy, too broad of potential meaning for me to use it in the narrow context of BDSM or my own M/s.

I do use the term "task".  It is something that I want done.   I will most likely phrase it in a polite way, but it isn't necessary a request.

I don't use the term "session".  Instead, I'll usually say "scene" or "play".

"Roleplay" to Me is usually something that has a minimal script to it, even if all that script is, "you're the war crimial, I'm the interrogator."  Some people write brilliant scenes for roleplay that can last for hours or even days.  I'm more the off the cuff type.

"Fantasy" isn't a word I use much.  I don't have fantasies.  I have goals.

No, I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. I took your original post as being word specific. "Task" is not a word that I use a great deal. If I am telling someone about a specific job or task, I would simply say something like "I would like you to do the dishes." Or, if there is several things I want done "I would like you to do the dishes, clean the bathroom, then sweep and mop the floors." Or, if it is written "Here is a list of things I want done."

Typically for me a fantasy is something i imagine doing, but haven't done yet. Something which i do plan on doing in the future though.

Session i don't use. Mind you i dont use scene or play either. I don't class what i do as scening, playing or having a session.

Roleplay i haven't really done. So not much use of that word for me either lol.

Task i have used in the past but not often recently. Im with LaT in that i would be more likely to hear 'things to do'.

Same as all words we use, session, roleplay, fantasy will all mean slightly different things to different people. These days not many people live by 'dictionary definition' and thats the way i like it really. Makes for an interesting life.

To carry the last thought even further, a fantasy can be something that not only have you not done yet but may never do.  I have fantasies about not being overweight ever again, but I don't know if that will ever come true.  : )

Tasks can be either assigned by the top or suggested or automatically taken on by the bottom.  One of my tasks, for instance, is not to color my hair myself but to have it done professionally.  I have added the task of having my eyebrows waxed at the same time.

A desire, as opposed to fantasy, is a feeling of what we truly want.  It may also never come true, but it is something that we carry with us.  I "desire" to be appreciated by the One I have chosen.  If I did not receive that feeling then I would need to find a relationship that fulfilled that desire.  I "desire" a kiss at the beginning and end of the session.

For me, being submissive is not roleplay - it is simply who I am.  Roleplay tends to include pretending, acting out a role.  For others it is simply taking on the top or bottom role during a session.  Those people tend to have sharper lines between their vanilla and BDSM life.

A lot of these definitions, within the lifestyle, have no black and white meaning but are flexible for each relationship.  That may be harder for a new person to understand, but gives a lot of room for individuality for each dynamic.  Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Daddyy doesn't use a term to ask me to do something he just askes me to do it like wash the dishes simple and clear to what he wants done. We usually just say play if thats what we're going to do since that is what it is to us. We have children so our life outta the bedroom is pretty vanilla. Heck now that I'm 4 months preganant our bedroom life is vanilla to.

We dont use terms quite like that.
A fantasy is a dream scenario that is unlikely to actually be brought around to happen, due to safety or feasibility issues.
A desire is something that one of us can actually make happen.
We do not have scenes, we do not plan that sort of thing, whatever happens happens.
We do not roleplay, either, since the conotation of roleplay is to pretend, and there is no pretending going on
Fox and Angel do have tasks, but they have nothing to do with fantasy or desire. They are chores, or things I want done or they know they have to complete.

A fantasy is something I haven't done, the idea of which turns me on. Which does not mean I necessarily want to try it. My fantasies tend to be rougher than I can handle, I know that and accept it. So does he. A fantasy may include being subdued and tied by force to a tree, have my clothes cut off me, being molested and then left there to be freed by a passerby and make my way home naked.

In reality the idea of getting poison ivy from the tree doesn't excite me. Nor does the idea of the mosquitoes that would zero in on me. In fantasy, Eden contains no thorns, poison ivy or bugs.

As far as roleplay? Around here it includes some wish fulfillment. I was never a cheerleader being taken under the bushes by the big and strong linebacker. But I can see what it would have been like with no more than a cheap Halloween costume and pompoms and a Giants tee for him.

Fantasy.session.roleplay.task..

My meanings
Fantasy - a thought that turns someone on and they may or may not want to experience.
Session, like a doctor, lawyer, therapist.  A meeting to achieve a goal.
Roleplay, mostly what I do during a session.  Someone wants to play at submitting.  I play at accepting that submission.  Or a masochist likes pain, I give them that pain.  I play interrogator, they play victim.  No depth, just fun.
Task, something someone is asked to do.

I don't see any difference in these terms within the bdsm context.

FANTASY:  Somethign that's hot in my head, but i haven't done yet.
SESSION:  Something that other people do
ROLEPLAY:  Variously, all of our M/s relationship I see as a fantasy (since I remain pretty clear that my wife is NOT my slave and she remains a free agent) OR, something that other people do.  Depends on the day.  My wife and I spent the last decade referring to our marriage as "playing house" and now, sometimes, our M/s relationship is seen as "playing slave".
TASK:  I have no context specific meaning for this word.

Sorry, we don't use any of the 4 terms you mention.  We play...and when we play we have fun.  Unlike your use of those 4 terms, there is no sexual meaning involved with our use of the words play and fun.  We do the things we do because we have a great time doing them.

Personally I feel you are splitting hairs with trying to come up with definitive meanings for the terms you listed.  I do not understand why the definitions are so important to you.  Why cares what words people use and what meanings people have for the words if they are doing their thing and having fun doing it?
