Who hasn't been in a car accident? i started driving in 1972 in CA and had my first fender bender 13 years later, in 1985, in MD when a small pick-up sideswiped my brand new Olds Calais in the parking lot of my apartment building. It was only cosmetic damage but it was on my new car. The guy asked if i would take my car to his cousin's shop in DC to get it fixed and he would pay for it, so as to avoid insurance being involved. That was okay with me. So, on the following Monday, i drove my car over to the shop on my lunch break, where i was rear-ended by a big ol' Cadillac, as i was sitting at a red yield sign, waiting for a break in traffic so i could merge. Result: my brand new car had to be towed to the shop, which was 1/4 mile from where i was hit, and i got a mild (but very painful) case of whiplash. The guy had alcohol on his breath and hadn't seen me sitting there so, my car was his break. His steel bumper was unhurt. The only other car accident i have had in my 32 years of driving was when a sudden, heavy snow storm on Veteran's Day 1987 hit the DC area and i slid, at a very low speed, into a curb covered in a pile of snow. No other car was involved and my car didn't need to be towed but, it did need to get worked on. i have never caused a wreck with another car and my cautious and defensive driving has resulted in my avoiding more crashes than i have been in. joy Owned servant of Master David
