I do get the "I been screwed" feeling.  I dont know that shopping is a problem with me tho.

interesting how we come to value packaging.  after all- we dispose of it....

I used to be addicted to garage sales and bargain shopping, and as a result we have a houseful of crap that i am now trying to give away on freecycle.[:o]

i was biten in the butt by the EBay bug. It was just so darn easy to sit at the computer and shop. I had to get it under control because it was beginning to really hurt our finances. I still shop there on occasion but only when it is something i cannot easily find in the stores.

ebay sucks because most people there charge double to triple what actual shipping costs are... $20 to ship a cd from usa to canada?? fat chance.

and if talking women its more like 1 in 5 are addicted to shopping...i know if i had money all the time...i certainly would shop it away on clothes.

Hm....that percentage seems very low to me.  Depending on the demographics, age, income, gender, etc that ratio would be much higher.  And don't forget what type of shopping, in-person, flea markets, garage sales, Net, etc.  And yes, Freecycle is great for getting rid of the old stuff taking up space in the garage and shed.

Uhhhhhmmmmm....anyone that has read my profile in the last....ohhhh....say, 5 years knows....I have no addiction.

(Not).

Ebay is good for items that one cant find in a small town.  Tho I have bought junk that was glorious in the description, but had it been sitting here I would have thrown it away.  I find that item descriptions lack online.  Tho online IS good for certain items.

I have good news for any shoppers.  Tonight on my crime watch run I made an audio recording of the train on 3rd street.  It is yours for $0.29 cents  -- use pay pal and Ill send ya the file.     ?

freecycle is good. I actually am giving away a jar of peanut butter there.

I have an expensive oriental carpet that I'd like to sell.
Does anyone know how to go about it?

If we were younger and just starting a household i think i could furnish it all from freecycle.  I did get my walker, shower chair and other things i needed for my hip surgery on freecycle. I also got a new tube of arnica cream on freecycle, lol.

Only if they're books. I hate buying clothes.

the good news is I finally got my hair all cut from the red hair dye [ORANGE] that I got on free cycle over the winter.  lol

I might have unloaded old carpet that was basically weed control for many months ...

Your days are numbered. We are in a deep deep recession that is likely to become a depression, although the spin they put on the numbers belie that, it is still true.

I understand that money is worth shit, but the garbage in the stores is even worse.

Buy used, garage sales are a good thing, but the last one I was at, almost everything they had for sale was decorations.

Decorate your life and lose your house. Then it is all gone. You just don't fucking understand just how bad things are. Buy guns and other tools, otherwise you could lose it all, get it got it ? Good.

You need some more model cars, a new painting for over the sofa ? Eat it. You might have to.

The spree is going to be over very soon.

i'm addicted to window shopping.  [:D]

i'm used to being broke, so i look at all kinds of pretties but dont buy anything.  TheEngineer is amused by this, and at the same time he shakes his head at my antics.

I love shopping, even if its with/for other people and Im only there to help thm accessorise, or for my expert handling of sales associates... I have only felt like I got screwed a couple of times, when I bought a game that was hyped a lot, but sucked ass
