ORIGINAL: WinsomeDefiance Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening - to all you voracious CM Readers: This post is a public service brought to you by the makers of Boredom and Introspection..... Now for the Pop Quiz: Question #1: As an individual practitioner of whatever it is you do (TPE/BDSM or Gorean etc.), is it YOUR personal belief that there is a proverbial line in the sand drawn between the "Us" and the "THEM?" When I was younger, I saw lines...between those of us in school who made high grades but did not follow the "dress code". First inklings that those lines weren't so clear...those who did not make good grades but did not follow the dress code AND those who made good grades and did follow the dress code. Lines blurred. When I was in the service, there was a line between G.I.'s and civilians. But there were plenty of folks not in the military who supported us, even during those difficult years. Line blurring...those who supported us but not our mission, those who supported us and our mission. Chiropractic vs. medical. Line blurring...some hospitals now have chiropractic doctors on staff. I work with several medical doctors and had an orthopedic specialist work out of my office for years. What I have learned is that the lines are there but they are not as clear cut and defined as some would like to make them. I am not wishy-washy...I believe in taking stands on what I believe in but I also understand that like so many other things in life, whether it be values, ethics, etc., there are shades of gray...even if they are very faint shades sometimes. quote:
Question #2: Do you as an individual practitioner of whateve it is you do, feel you have been discriminated against? Persecuted? Because of what I do in my professional life, I am very careful about who knows what I do in my personal life. When you do not allow access to that knowledge, you cannot get hurt by discrimination or persecution.
