McCain, Iraqi president say progress being made

Just so there's no mistake about who has the real grasp on foreign policy (hint:  It ain't Obama)

Are you turning into a post and run troll? What is this the fifth thread you've started this weekend?

As to your specific claim, I think I'll trust the candidate that knows shi'ite extremists don't support sunni extremists. Which excludes McCain.

Progress?.... Cool!

Now, we can leave?

Again,it really doesn`t matter what folks say or declare, pro or con. We`re getting out.

Why didn`t you acknowledge that the Iraqi PM(the guy w/ the real power there)wants us out by a time certain?

(hint- it`s because you`re intellectually dis-honest)

If you love the Iraqis so much, why don`t you move there and help them yourself?

Oh right, you`d rather send our fresh-faced GIs.

Pssst....

According to a recent article in the LA Times.

President Bush and Maliki have set a target date of July 31 to hammer out a blueprint for U.S.-Iraqi relations after the United Nations mandate for the presence of U.S.-led forces in Iraq expires at the end of the year. The talks are focused on two accords. One would provide a framework for future diplomatic, economic and security relations. The other, known as a Status of Forces Agreement, would provide a legal basis for U.S. troops to remain in the country.

I would also point to some of the commannders talking about bringing the numbers down before years end... Of course many of those troops are going to be redeployed to Afghanistan, but since that is what Obama is proposing (now) that should not be of any concern to those on the left...

Of course progress is being made.  After five years of it slding steadily downhill, it's looking up at the moment.

But now I'm going to hold Bush to the same standards I have to meet at work:

1. What is the point of the war?
2. At what point can you say that you've accomplished your goal?
3. When will you get there?
4. How much will it cost?

If I was to say at my job, "Hey, I still don't have any clue how this will all play out, but since I've thrown more resources at my project, things are going better than when I used less,"  I'd be fired.

I believe Bush about as far as I can throw him.

If he said what time it is,I`d check my watch.
