I could not get away to this one. I try to go to as many of the events as I can, but the timing stinks for me this time.

i have not been to one, when i lived back East, but the people ought to be good. i still subscribe to knot4every1.org and get the notices. So if you can make it, do it.

G'morning all: Having been to TES Fest in this same facility, I can't say I'd attend. It's a short drive away but the convention site is pretty cheesy. Not to mention their registration prices are ridiculous. I see most if not all of these vendors at the winter Fetish Fair Fleamarket hosted by NELA every year so I'd find nothing new. While some of the workshops or classes may be informative, I can't justify that cost. Snipped from the FW site - Members July 21 ~ Aug 1 - $165.00 NonMembers July 21 ~ Aug 1 - $190.00. That's per person, mind you. Not including any hotel, travel or meals for 3 days. I didn't think the prices were bad: it's for three days of access, and there are some pretty awesome people leading the workshops. Plus, the hotel fees were extremely cheap. I consider it a weekend getaway, and in terms of how much one would usually cost, this is perfectly reasonable. I dunno... I don't mind shelling out a little for fetish events. Plenty of the local parties don't ask for much money, and they suck. If you want to put together something worthwhile, it's gonna cost a little something.

G'evening all: Couple, I've been to that facility. It's not on a par with what I would expect for shelling out that much dough. The convention center is a dive. It'd be different if they were holding it somewhere classy. While the overflow hotel cost is below $100, the area is remote and there's no stores or restaurants nearby. I like having more choices than that. NELA's winter FFF is much more reasonable, even if it is being held in February (rather than in January). They have classes and presenters as well, They don't try to rape your wallet. If I remember correctly? The one earlier this year (not the summer one just past) was $20, for the entire weekend. Of course they also secure event rates at nearby hotels for the attendees. I'd have to consult my previous Master Card bills to find the exact amount. I do recall it being very reasonable for a pretty posh hotel. As for local parties? I don't bother unless it's being thrown/hosted by people I know and know well. So I can't render an opinion on that. Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others... [:D] Bella

I'm gonna agree with Bella...save your money for a better event. There are far better events that are FAR more reasonaby priced. while floating world is in it's first few years, yes, they will be working out kinks, but, again....too much for too little. SELF was awesome...SPLF, Thunder...hell...Kinky Kollege is huge in Chi-town. And the hotels are of a much better quality and in a better and more "tourist" friendly area of town. One of the biggest advantages when it comes to "older" events is that the locals don't think it's too crazy when a bunch of people wearing collars and being lead by leshes show up at the closest "Qwik Food" and and have dinner. Sorry...floating world is not going to be on my list. boiJen who lived and Philly two years ago and still thinks Jersey sucks (and stinks)

I haven't been to floating world, but if Bella is correct about the price range, I'd definitely be saying that I'd probably prefer another event. SELF was absolutely wonderful. DomCon Atlanta is less than half the price that was listed above. I tend to watch the price (who doesn't these days?) of major events. I can only make a few a year, so cost is something to consider.
