(Before going any further, I'd like to tell everyone that, apart from (back in the very beginning of my journey) an ex Dom mentioning the same sort of procedure to me (and getting a very quick "I don't f---ing think so!" in reply), I know next to nothing about it. This post is just my 2 cents).
My first thought was "ouch!" my second was "this could cause some very serious issues". Having been pierced multiple times myself (twice through the nipples) I'd seriously advise against it. It sounds as if it would have all sorts of complications that go along with it (infection, scarring, migration and rejection....), not to mention snagging it every time you tried to put on a bra! (my guess is that your body would have enough of a time trying to heal it (if it healed at all) without clothing rubbing it all the time).
Another thing that occured to me was "mastectomy". I'd imagine (if things got badly infected/scarred enough, or didn't adequately heal) this may have to happen. Are you prepared for that?.
Also think about the future...families that you may want to have, the fact that your Dom (if you have one) may split up with you, and the potential feelings of any future Doms you get involved with. Take all this sort of thing into consideration.
If you are *seriously* considering this, and *badly* want it, go to http://www.bmezine.com (my version of a body-mod "bible"...they have *every* conceivable modification on that site, along with the risks). Also talk to doctors and other health professionals, and take in their opinions on having it done, the risks and the potential remedies to fix them, should it come to that (and also their suggestions for infection control and healing).
