   My Mistress recently gave me an assignment to research the difference between slave and sub. It seems a very gray subject to me with a lot of overlapping, which has left me a bit confused. I would think there would be a clear line of distinction. I hope I can find some answers.

research -- that requires a bit of looking around.. and perhaps you should do that, rather than ask us to do that for you... if you search those terms in all the forums here you'll find more information than anyone ever needs

if you do it on the internet as a whole, well, you'll have to find a few days to sort through it all...

this may be one of the most debated topics here, I'd imagine.. please do some research on your own...

You're not the first to ask this question. Use the "search" function to check the archives. Try something like "difference submissive slave" for your search string. Happy researching....

So far it sounds like you have it pretty well sorted out. It IS a grey area. Everyone will answer the question a little differently. What you have to figure out is what the distinction is for you.

Read a book by Guy Baldwin called SlaveCraft it is the best definition description of internal slavery I have ever seen.

At the end of everything, the only definitions that matter are the ones you and your partner agree to.

Anything else is another person's attempt to erotize terms that have historical and institutional and social meanings that have been primarily negative.
