Don't knock it

Guinea Pig is VERY GOOD. I think it tastes more like Rabbit then Chicken Though.

Other Good meats.

Ostritch - although it is easy to over cook and make too dry it is Very Game like in Taste.
Rattle Snake - Hard to explain it's like eating Chicken Flavored Fish ..... kinda.... snake as a different kind of tecture
Pigeon - For those not living in a city you know that wild pigeon is very good
Rabbit - Game like in taste only it has a very different after taste
Squirrel - If you have ever eaten the Meat on a Stick at a Chinese Buffet that is EXACTLY what Squirrel tastes like
Kangaroo - JUST LIKE BEEF. Mild After taste that tells you THAT'S NOT BEEF
Buffalo - VERY LEAN Very Tasty, Better than any regular steak I have ever had
Boar - Oddly enough does not really taste like Pork but has the texture of it and the smell, tastes more like Lamb to me.

Guinea Pig is a very tasty animal. I like it best with mild seasoning and a Luisiana Style hot sauce.

DO NOT MAKE ME SAD STEEL!!!!  The guinea pig is my chosen companion animal and I just lost my piggen a few weeks ago!!

Though it is true, it is a perfectly fine meat, like rabbit, and farming gpigs is allowing many Peruvian women to provide better lives for their families.

Now, someone tell me about EATING DOGGIES!  Couldn't care less about THEM. [8D]

I have, In Mexico, It is Tough and Stringy. I only mentioned GOOD eating animals. Dog was not very good. I also go sick but that could have been from many things I did in Mexico so I don't wanna blame the Dog, but in Chihuahua I ate Dog at a WhoreHouse/Cantina at first my friends thought they were playing a joke on us when they said it was Perro but then they served the same thing to the table next to us and they were looking at us strange when we started laughing, so I looked over to them pointed to thier food and said "Perro?" and they just nodded and went back to thier meal.

Dog was not all that good.

Add Lion, tender, sharp red meat, nice in a lingonberry reduction sauce, only thing I can compare it to is Lion..it's a predator taste.
Camel..no comparison..must be tried
Emu tastes a bit like a cross between dark meat turkey, with a touch of duck
Elephant tough and must be cook for a long while to be chewable, tastes a bit like Bison
Bison tender, lean and gamier than beef, has a slight after taste and can dry out quickly when grilled
Gator DOES NOT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN Neither does Snake though both can be MADE to taste like chicken
Bear, gamey, a tad greasy but a rich red taste to it
Gopher, sweet taste to the meat have to be careful to drain away the fat, but you want nice fat gophers to start with

Several Restuarants in NY and Florida offer a game menu in the fall. The more exotics were eaten there. The animals are culls from breeding farms.

If everything tastes like chicken..what does Chicken taste like?

Besides the usual pig, cow, chicken and fish I've had elk, deer, wild boar, turtle, and gator.  Never thought of trying guinea pig.  I have thought of trying giraffe though.

Wow. I'm gonna hang out with y'all. My friends think I'm "weird" for trying to eat random little critters [;)]

DesFIP -> RE: Mmm, a late night snack (7/24/2008 7:22:55 PM)

Here guinea pigs are pets, there they are meat animals.

But I have a problem with dressing it up, having a cuteness competition and then taking off the cute outfit and eating it.

GreedyTop -> RE: Mmm, a late night snack (7/24/2008 7:25:20 PM)

opposingtwilight -> RE: Mmm, a late night snack (7/24/2008 8:49:02 PM)

I don't really like to eat meat anyway but I think I was more grossed out by the fact that head, tail and feet were still attached ...
