Hi, I have a question for the people who sew out there. I am trying to find out how to do the stitch that is used on bags (dog food, fertilizer, others). If you pull on one end all the stitching comes out and it opens.

Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Commercially it's a standard loop, often multiple threads and done very closely. If you're doing it by hand I suggest folding the bottom material upward and sewing that v-shaped bottom through the middle. Think "Dolphin swimming".

A chain stitch would pull out like that. You'd have to do it by hand. Thread your needle, stick the eye end rather than the pointy end through your fabric, hold on to the thread and pull the needle back so you have a little loop of thread. Do the next stitch the same way, with the needle going through the loop from the first stitch. Each stitch goes through the loop from the stitch before. When you pull on the thread (from the end where you finished sewing, not from the starting end) the stitching will all pull out.
