They might want her to earn some tiny amout of fat, and more muscle tone perhaps. Makes sense for an action movie.

Fat cells are not as heavy as muscle tissue.

I see nothing wrong with her gaining 28 pounds or more. In an interview she gave some time ago, she said that she was something like 5'8" or 5'9". Her dress size is about a 2 or 4 tops. Someone with that much height can stand to carry more weight on her bones, especially if it is gained properly. As others have said, it's a job requirement, big deal, nothing wrong with it, and if she's having fainting spells, her health should be critically important. With 6 babies running around, she'll need her strength!

being underweight isn't bad for you? she's putting strain on her internal organs and muscle tissue (if she has any left). putting on some weight will only help her be healthier and feel better. it's not like she's going to be some obese person from putting on a little weight.

"they" are not hurting her unless a gun is held to her head. It is a JOB. It is a job she has made the choice to accept. She appears to be a rational woman. If she felt accepting the job was dangerous to her health then she has the option to refuse.
Any health issues that result are on her.

Just because you say she doesn't 'need' to gain weight, perhaps she wants to gain weight for the role? It is not uncommon for actors to have to alter their weight for a role faery, and maybe if she gains some of the weight for this job she won't even have fainting spells.

Actually I think it is awful to hold a stranger to a standard like you are doing, she is a woman and an actor.
Saying she needs to stay on the thin side isn't exactly supporting her as an actor but instead supports the idea that she is just a product that needs to be perfectly presented.

If it will make her sicker, why the hell do doctors suggest that people that have gotten to low weights gain some weightt? 28 wont kill her after the kids, and stuff she just popped out. Seriously hun. Did you even consider that this is something she WANTS to do? If it was in the contract she signed, she knew what she was getting into, and she had no issue with it, so its a done deal. If you dont like the weight gain, I suggest you not watch the movie.

because she is gonna gain it..then lose it once the movie is over....you cant do that to a body..especially after having kids. especially if she is having un explained fainting spells already.

i dont care that she's too skinny or not...this can have a serious effect on the rest of her life. if something bad happens people will say....you know that faery was right...

i am not saying she has to stay on the thin side...all i ever said is all actresses are too skinny as it iis....but again this can be hazardous to her.

But who says shes going to lose it all? Did she tell you that? In todays society, we never know where the celebs are going next. One minute, they are blonde, then they are bald. Oh, be still my bleedin' heart. I'd trade 5 or 10 years on my life to live the way she lives ... seriously. I'm not kidding. No money concerns.... seeing the world in a way that few ever do. Pampered and spoiled. If I had to die at 70 instead of 75 because I gained then lost 28 pounds ... I'd do it in a friggin' heartbeat. No one's twisting her skinny little arm to get her to gain weight - she signed the contract and knew what she was getting into. More than likely she is the one releasing the info for even more publicity for Saint Angelina...

faery, I just find it rediculous, this mysterious "they". If someone offers you a job that you do not need and tells you that you must do something that has possible health risks, and even though you do not need this job, you take it. Exactly WHO is responsible for your actions and possible repercussions?

I think that any concern over this one particular issue is rather odd. The actress in question has obviously done potentially dangerous things in several action movies yet there has been no discourse about that........so why something like a weight gain? Plastic surgery is probably more risky and dangerous with unknown health risks. Example.......Botox.......something almost every actor and entertainer uses. A procedure that is so new we won't know it's long term risks for years. Yet no thread about the horrors of that?

What exactly is the bigger/deeper issue here?
