Marc Anthony shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, and the spray too.  my hair is just *this* side of curly, so it helps encourage the curl and keep the frizz down.  I've tried others, they just don't work as well.  plus, it's at Rite-Aide. [:D]

I have a ton of hair, and keeping it shorter is not an option because then I get pyramid head and all sorts of funky pieces sticking out.  I wash it every other day because it's a hassle to do it more and helps keep the color nice...found my first grey at 19 and now at 43 have a few streaks I like to cover up...going without the color isn't really an option for me any longer.

I use Pantene for fine hair... everyday... and since I have fine hair so I use Fat Cat on my hair once a month .... I have tons of hair but its baby fine.. it doesn't curl its always straight. I lilke to dye my hair and it ranges from black to the normal red.

Peace

Angelic

I have the same type of hair. I usually use Paul Mitchell or Pantene, but only condition when I feel like it. It just isn't as curley when I condition it.

I'm a switch, but for you, OG, I'll be a laminant!  [8D]

But....what if >I< want to laminate?? [8D]

I have never let another woman be the laminant one, but for you...  I could make an exception, just this once...  [;)]

Wooohoooo....tell ya what - for that, we can laminate each other and get all...well...sticky.  [:D]

You sexy wench...  that sounds like a deal I could soooo live with!  [8D]

kiwisub12 -> RE: Shampoo- (7/26/2008 8:15:44 PM)

I have bra band length silver hair, and use fructose ? brand for long hair, and a revlon bright lights for grey and silver hair shampoo, then pantene conditioner to keep the split ends down.  There is a dreth of shampoo for grey and silver hair to get rid of the yellow on the ends. I have to watch the bright lights shampoo - it will make my hair go purple if i  use it too much.    and i have naturally shiny hair! [:D]

sub4hire -> RE: Shampoo- (7/26/2008 8:17:34 PM)

Depends on the day.  All shampoo builds up on your hair..so I have a cradle of 4 types.  Use a different type each shampoo.
Shampoo'ing your hair robs it of its natural oils.  Some recommend never shampooing at all.
So, I shampoo 3 times a week giving my hair a break in between.  I generally only use salon shampoo's.

About the same with conditioner although I pay even more money for that.

I changed my habits after watching a 20/20 thing on shampoo about 15 years ago now.  How they all are about the same..blah..blah.  Conditioner is what you're supposed to spend the money on to have quality.

Kali: Thanks for the suggestion of a new shampoo! I will give it a try the next time I need a new one. Regarding the lack of thyroid...(and I don't mean to hijack this thread)...how are you coping? I find fatigue is a huge issue for me.

LadyRainfire: Thanks for the info! I have some already, so I think I just may give it a try before my next shampoo. :)

Twstdkinkerbell: A good tip! Thanks for the sharing. :)

impishlilhellcat -> RE: Shampoo- (7/26/2008 9:09:16 PM)

I have crazy long curly hair and I frequently switch my shampoo and conditioner. Right at the moment I'm using infusium moisturizing conditioner and head and shoulders moisturizing shampoo. I often use a stripping shampoo especially if I am in Michigan because of the hard water it strips all the build up out of my hair.

Do you take Synthroid?  My thyroid kicked my ass after Thing 2 was born.  So, now I take meds to keep all that in check.  If I miss a dose or 2, I feel like poop, soooo tired.

cravesdom -> RE: Shampoo- (7/27/2008 12:06:17 AM)

I switch between a few favorites depending what is one sale. I wash and condition my hair almost every day.

I know I am dating myself as well, but I loved Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific too. I used to get compliments all the time and it was the only shampoo & conditioner I would use. Sigh.

L8bloomer -> RE: Shampoo- (7/27/2008 12:35:43 AM)

Daddysredhead:  I take Levothroid. I have, in the past, taken 2 other brands of thyroid hormone, including Synthroid. But I haven't found that any provided a boost.

For those who feel they are dating themselves by remembering Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific, do any of you recall the stuff that was a "dry" shampoo? You'd spray it through your hair, comb it and it was supposed to be a temporary fix if you couldn't shampoo or something to use inbetween shampoos. I don't remember the name of it, but I do remember using it. From what I recall, it was kind of gross! *L*

So this fun little exchange isn't a complete hijack, whaddya say we wash each other's hair for after care?  [:D]

(And I remember that "Gee your hair smells terrific" ad!  Anyone remember "Faberge Organics?")

MadameMarque -> RE: Shampoo- (7/27/2008 5:14:04 AM)

I have very long hair, too.  For years, I was very pleased with L'anza products.  Among a variety of the best salon products, theirs were the best, in my experience, and according to many beauticians who saw products come and go.  Properly pH balanced, so they weren't too detergent but also didn't leave your hair weighed down.  Kept the hair moist, and had good products to strengthen and repair the shaft.  They left my hair in great shape and had pleasing scents, too.  In fact, one of their shampoos was recommended for body wash, as well as hair, and I was very pleased with using it that way, too.

They even developed a special line for long hair.

Then, about two years ago, they changed hands.  When Murad took them over, they monkeyed with the formulas, and raised the prices.  They were already salon prices!  And now they only list the pH balance on their new, most expensive products.  This makes me wonder if the pH balance has changed on the older, more affordable formulas.  And, they dropped the long hair line.
So, I'm very disappointed in L'anza.  I think now I'll only stay with them if I can find a discount bargain on their products.

Try Drugstore.com, that is where I found Flex. They carry a LOT of old style products, kind of fun to see them again.

I do remember the dry shampoo, there was always a spray can of that stuff in the bathroom when I was in junior high. It was a bit like a spray baby powder and worked only so-so for me.
