Wow, why do so many people have such fixed, limited points of view regarding switches? I know a huge number of people who identify as switches and find this thread to be very disheartening. Lets compare this to being bi-sexual. If a guy dates a female bi-sexual does that make him a bi-sexual? Does being a bi-sexual mean the person has no interst in being in a committed or monogamous relationship? The fact that they are bi-sexual only means that they, in some way shape or form, like both sexes. I would also like to point out that the Old Guard culture our entire lifestyle is based on was inherently tied to switching. An Old Guard Master had to start out as a bottom and EARN the right to be a master. Frequently, from what I understand, most Masters still had a Daddy of their own. Does anyone here think that makes an Old Guard Master any less of a dominant? If so, I'd love ot be around and hear you tell one that in person - the fireworks would likely be amazing to watch. Being a switch means the person likes multiple aspects of BDSM. Maybe they are both dominant and submissive. Maybe they are a dominant, sadistic masochist. Maybe they are a submissive sadist. Who knows, it can be any combination of the possibiliteis to any degree. For example, just because a masochist also identifies as a sadist that has no indication on the level of intensity they enjoy in either. Likewise, a person can be both a very authoritative dominant and a compliant submissive. Usually these contrasts occur at different times and with different people. Most switches I know aren't dominant and submissive to the same person for example, but it is possible. Being a switch means - you're a switch. Which doesn't really say much because there are as many kinds of switches as there are manufacturers of cars. Just because you like buying Toyota doesn't mean you hate America. Seeking a switch means - could mean just about anything. So lets use an examples. - Dominant seeks submissives and switches - probably someone looking to play with submissives. Switches can be just as submissive as "submissives" can.
- Submissive seeks dominants and switches - probably someone looking to submit to a dominant. Switches can be just as dominant as "dominants" can.
- Switch seeks submissives and switches - Most likely someone looking for submissives and probably not looking to switch with them. But you never know for sure unless you ask.
- Switch seeks switches - Well if they are ONLY seeking switches then they are probably looking to switch with that person. But, once again, you don't know if you don't ask.
