beaten2service -> lower then a slave (7/28/2008 8:08:38 AM)

is it possible to become lower then a slave?
is a slave that is owned by a sub lower then a normal slave?

i do have some concept of the difference between a sub and slave just so you know, before i get someone calling me silly names or other things its just a question or two.

My thoughts exactly. Furthermore i can't imagine a sub owning anyone let alone a slave. Could you please clarify your statement?

DMFParadox -> RE: lower then a slave (7/28/2008 8:33:58 AM)

No.

We're all slaves and masters in some respect... slave to gravity, master of our own breathing.  To a degree.  Both statements can be contested; and so can any statement of slavery or mastery.  Such is life.

Unless you're in a formal, military hierarchy where such distinctions have meaning, then your situation is simply that of a partner to an inexperienced master/mistress, whatever she may be to someone else.  (he? gender can't be taken for granted here.)

In my estimation, to be a decent slave is to be an effective servant.  I was always told, 'whatever you do, whether you're a ditch-digger or a prince of commerce, be two things: in love with your role, and committed to being the best ditch-digger or prince that you can be.'  Nowadays that's more true than ever.  People are turning to BDSM more and more because the lines of up and down are blurring beyond anything we've known in history; new lines are being drawn in places that are hard for the average person to see... so we draw our own lines.

Whatever you choose as your role, be better at it than a lazy slug would be.  As a matter of fact, if you're capable, then be a better slave/servant than anyone has ever seen.  (Or master, if you ever switch.)  Take pride in your capability.  People respect and cherish such creatures more than they do mediocre dominants (or submissives.)  Be a standard by which others compare themselves to you.

Don't worry about the meaning of it too much; just create your own meaning, it's what the rest of us do.  Even masters.

Actually, I've known more than a few owned servants who had servants of their own -- the typical individual in the middle of this series is a 'switch', but it also comes into play a bit in hierarchical households where servants lower in the hierarchy answer to servants above them, and everything including discipline and punishment are meted out by the servant in charge, acting on behalf of the owner(s).

i don't know what you mean by "lower" - need to explain that one further.

however i own two male submissives but think of them as my pets. they love how intimate the word "pet" can mean between us.

sirsholly -> RE: lower then a slave (7/28/2008 8:41:33 AM)

since when is a slave "low"? IMHO they are prized property of the Master

It may be a wise option to clarify what you mean by "lower" and "normal slave" means. I am sure if you asked every person on this site who identifies as slave and/or submissive will state they are "normal." Normal being a state of being which each person has defined for themself.

No

No

On grammar, it should read as than, not then.  Then refers to time.

Insufficient information supplied. To determine relative of height one must know how 'high' was the slave in the first place?

quote:

No, but if the sub is owned by an 'abnormal' slave then perhaps.

So glad that you decided to join CM and post. There have been countless threads on the differences between a 'sub' and 'slave'. Please disclose your "concept" and settle the debate once and for all.

I've observed that with the proliferation of subs and slaves on the open market as represented in profiles that they've become akin to the famous 'Lays' potato chips - you can't have just one! Then once you have two - you want more. Therein lays the problem with your question. Maybe you can settle it for one, but what if that slave then gets a slave! It's like looking into a mirror reflecting a mirror. Where does it start? Where does it end! Which one is a reflection of the one true slave? EGAD!

Just remember that not every one wants to be a prized property, or thinks of themself as property:) It'll be diffrent for every one you ask.
