Walmart is getting rid of some Bernat and bringing in the Caron Simply Soft.  I hate it that they are discounting the yarns but I was able to get more yarn for the closet, prefect for layettes.  I am afraid that I have to get a super saver of black to finish the ladybug afghan.  After this project I get to work on a penguin for my nephew.

I found a skein of Bernat Softbaby in my bookshelf (don't ask) as I was looking for some needles...it was hiding with the softbaby..again don't ask...

I have been getting shawl and baby layette plans in the mail lately.  I did order a special afghan pattern that I am going to make while she is sleeping (when she generally knows I will be gaming.

The ladybug and penguin looked adorable and so fun to make. I'm still trying to find yarn to make my blanket. It's looking pretty ugly so far, but I don't have the heart to tear it out and think if I just make it large enough I'll forget the mismatched gold color and the perfectly matched cotton I started out with. Plus, I really just enjoy the knitting more then the finished project. I think that's why mine go largely unfinished.

For my bus trip home i got some Sugar' n Cream Green Twist 100% Cotton and a G hook to make Kitchen Scrubbies.   The only question i have concerns sewing sponges inside the Scrubby.  Wouldn't the sponge get nasty or fall apart in the wash?  Couldn't i do without the sponge?

For gifts i thought i would put two scrubbies with a knitted dishcloth and put them in a knitted gift bag with some "green" dish liquid.

i've given up on craft/knitting/crochet/needlepoint books.   i find that on-line free patterns more than keep me busy creating.  The trouble with books is that i may work only one project out of a whole book and then i have to find a place to put the book.  It takes up space i don't have and uses money i can't afford to spend.

I love those scrubbies, but I never saw any with sponges inside. Do they velcro shut? Remember that nylon macrame cord, that would be perfect for those!

My goal of finishing the sweater fronts while on holiday was NOT realized, but I did make a lot of progress, so I am glad I toted the stuff along.

You are so right Fluffy, the BEST thing about the internet is all those free patterns! I have a STACK, and I keep them in page protectors in big binders (taken from the "pitch it" pile at work!) so there is always SOMETHING to think about, and if I change my mind or say WHAT was I thinking? I haven't made a big investment. The books I do have are ones that have many patterns I want to make. Berroco (Berocco? I can never spell that!) is fabulous for posting their stuff the next season for free so sometimes all you need is patience.

The notebook is a good idea for saving print-out patterns.  You could also put sample strands of yarn in with the print out when you make something.

Mom & I use binders for our patterns. I also keep all of mine on Ravelry so I can access it from anywhere & I can add the yarn to the queued pattern. It makes it easier for me keep track of everything that way.

I got several projects in line that I am going to work on in the coming months.  Snowflakes, baby afghans, a few afghans...I am finally getting up one of my dreams, a crocheting shop where the customer tells me what they need and by phone or email discuss what the end product will be.  I just need the companies to get my yarns at dealer's costs.  Of course I need to get a camera with a scancard.

I have a binder for the ones that I printed out.  I am thinking that the 1 1/2 inch binder is notgoing to be enough...

I really don't make enough use of ravelry. It's the whole photo process, I think. Once I get the wireless internet set up (hahahahahahhaa*aaaa) then I can just recline with my laptop and post. Any year now.

i started a dishcloth with a waffle stitch today.  It took several tries to get the stitch to look like the picture.  Every time i think i am pretty good at crochet, they come up with a new pattern stitch.

I like that stitch! It looks like it would be a great bathmat!

Okay, my New Obsession is this vintage yarn, known by type as a fingering crepe. Velveen is one name, Cravenella is another. Made variously by Silk City, Melrose, Columbia-Minerva. It's the Missoni and St John whore in me... I LOVE those superfine knits, that drape all perfectly. I lost a big lot of the cravenella on ebay, I got that vibe that it was gonna be WAR, so I let the other person have it, and no doubt she is exulting in her deal. I am looking at a couple cones of Velveen on ebay right now.

I hate these obsessions. HATE. I have a bunch of the cravenella in a somewhat odd array of colours... from my pal Helen's mom. I am sure she did many different projects from them. I have to figure out how to make them go together for at least a shell to wear to work. Faux flame stitch?

Fiber addiction. Like crack, but you get to keep your teeth.
