Dim is cheap; the other two, not so. Falke's actually pretty expensive...

I've noticed that things here are definitely sized 'up' from Europe: it must be all that Germanic blood in the national stream. If you're not too tall (something I can definitely understand, being on the average height line myself), it can be iffy finding the right leg length...

Still, your talking of wearing stockings definitely got my blood pumping  .

Stockings in silk and lace and fancy garters all over the place!  Make for a fun "sleep-over party" for the ladies.

I think sleep would definitely be out of the equation. For a while anyway.

The sleep would happen the next day, after a night of pampering and debauchery!

I love the look of lace tops on thighs under a strict pencil skirt with beautiful high heels. Probably because I'm a child of the eighties.

Oh god

Pencil skirts and heels, Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe wore those to name a few.  Oh la la....

I've been reading this thread but haven't posted and had a bit of a shock yesterday. Had an appointment with an attorney here in Ontario and when we got to the office, I was dressed professionally in skirt, nylons, heels, and top while everyone in the office was in casual clothing. Sooooo, am I so out of it or did I just catch them on a casual day?  When I used to work with lawyers in California, professional attire was almost always a necessity, except on rare occasions. Attorney/client meetings it was expected.

This sounds silly but do I need to change my standards?

No pampers.

Lady Rainfire, do you know any of the staff well enough at that office to ask?  I would be very surprised to find an attorney's office all dressed casually.

No, it was my first visit there. It's my new attorney who will be handling my residency/immigration paperwork for Canada. We're talking the ladies were in capris and casual tops with sandals while I was feeling waaayyy over dressed. I know that a first impression is made in what? 7 seconds? I wanted to be sure to make that good presentation. I've always known offices to be professional dress except for the rare Friday dress-down day. When I go in to pick up some paperwork in a few weeks, I'll look again and maybe ask if the office is always "such a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere".   Maybe the attorneys only require a certain dress code for court appearances.

i recently applied for a job at a business that requires "business casual".  i was there waiting for my interview and there was a shift change.  i saw everything from skirts-blouses-heels, to shorts-t shirts-flip flops.  i think it really depends on the business and the managers over certain areas.

Have any of you ladies tried any of those brands of spray on hosiery? I was looking at one the other day in store, can't remember the brand, but I was thinking it may be just too similar to like spray on tan or something.

No, and I'm not too sure it sounds like I'd try. I'm back on the hunt for decent hose since they don't have the brands here in Ontario that I know from the States. I did NOT like what I got the other day and I will not get it again. It did in the pinch but EWWWWW.... puh - lease!!
