well when women do it its an open invetation for trouble...which is why you never see topless women outside.  but if a man does it....nobody cares.  like i always see them riding a bike topless...but you'd never see a woman do that...

Bans, and more bans, that's what we need, and a shitload more of those nice cameras everywhere, like in the UK, that catch people putting garbage in the wrong receptacle..... oh yes, things are looking up.

LOL, speaking of the UK... Anybody seen the new climate cops thing?

For an idea of what I am referring to here is a little write up about them:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=70811

I went to check out some of the games they are pushing towards kids... and one made me laugh and raise an eyebrow.  It has kids shooting at SUVs and other gas guzzlers to blow them up.

Just some more silly stuff, setting the framework to make leaving the water running while brushing your teeth a crime.

I'd be in big trouble on that one...

Am I the only one who's gotten stuck on the sidewalk behind some twit who's trying to text while walking? S/he slows down to half normal speed and often weaves, taking up the entire path. It's incredibly annoying. So a ban has a certain appeal to me, particularly if the punishment is death.

Seen this evening near Vauxhall in London.. a group of six women walking together down the street, five of who were speaking to someone on a mobile phone. Is this a record?

police don't respond to so many things already - how would they have time to enforce any of this?

In California as of January 2008 you can be fined for smoking in your car when you have children onboard.

The bill, by state Sen. Jenny Oropeza, D-Long Beach, makes it an infraction punishable by a $100 fine to smoke with a child under 18 in the car - whether the vehicle is in motion or not. Traffic officers would not be able to stop a driver for the smoking violation alone but could tack it on to another infraction such as speeding.

I think BIG BROTHER is way too big for his britches and they need to get their noses out of the business. I realize that health care is a big issue and what is driving some of this nonsense...but where does personal responsibility fit into this when we have government deciding and micro-managing our lives.

Off my soapbox now.

I suppose to make this poll fair, I should have put in an option for "I don't care about the bans, they are there to protect us"

There is a radio show I listen to in the afternoon from Cleveland and they were talking about the ban on text-walking... and the  main DJ got all pissy cause he said this was gonna get people killed because they aren't watching where they are going when they are engrossed in their phones. And the other dude that is on the show with him said it was insane to ban this... if that was the case they would have to ban the people who listen to Ipods and cross the street cause they are so engrossed in their music they won't see/hear an oncoming vehicle... It was funny to listen to them go back and forth on such a retarded subject. I understand there are some "special" people out there and there are reasons people try to ban certain things.. but come on already ... this is just getting stupid.
What are they gonna try to ban now masterbation or some such crap?? I mean ban things that are actually worth while. Or make laws to help people out.... do something about all the people who skip out on paying child support or something. Don't waste time on stupid things like this ...

Just my input

Peace

Angelic

I think the text while walking ban is silly too. Those people need to be weeded from the gene pool by motor vehicles in the proper manner-everyone will benefit from the resulting rise in the over all iq.

Another excellent point... are these bans adding to the problems of over population by preventing natural selection from weeding out those that are too dumb to pay attention when they cross a street. Maybe that should be a new ban, a ban on warning labels.. afterall if you are bright enough to rest the metal ladder against the powerlines during a strorm while trimming branches, you probably deserve what happens to you.

i have mixed feelings on this. In theory, it's fine and dandy. My Dodge has a 120-lb custom steel bumper with integrated brush guard, and i'm willing to do my part. However, more often than not i'm on a motorcycle, and *that* i have some concerns about... What if i hit some big fatass and he bends my forks? Won't somebody please think of the Suzukis?

That is why you should always carry a spare helmet... you can reach back and use it to smack the idiot in the head as you swerve to avoid them.

Just sayin,
