Huzzah!!  At least you are back and feeling better!!

lol LH, I love that new word of yours *Huzzah* Thank you for thw welcome back :)
I have been sent home with slow release morphine pills. I was also told by a loose lips PA that I only had 5-6 years to live. Can you imagine hearing that from someone other than your doctor? Needless to say, she had no right to tell me. As my father said "How do they know how many yers into the future I will live?" They don't. And they don't know ME <s>

happy to see you back MoGa!
i am surprised that the 1,000mg. of tylenol in 2 Tylenol PM's a day could effect your liver so much. everybody is so different, we  really need to be mindful of what we put int into it. were they hopeful of your liver regenerating itself, MoGa? and a side note in case everyone is not aware, the active sleeping agent in Tylenol PM is benadryl . so if you need a lil help sleeping from time to time it is better to just take the over the counter benadryl...just sayin.

Thank you Everhope (Love the name btw) <s> We have not discussed that part of treatment yet. I have a follow up with my doctor to get my routine visits down. My blood platelets are down to less than 40,000 (100,000-150,000 being normal) I need back surgery, of all things, which is not connected to my liver problem, but I mention it because, I cant have the surgery, or ANY surgery for that matter, till my platelets are back up. I'm a mess. But I am a strong woman, so I am drawing on my strength to get me through this.
About the tylonol PM...I also took vicodin for about a year, which has the same active ingrediant that causes liver problems. I would be hard press to name that ingrediant right now, but I'm sure you know what I am talkaing about lol I just lost my train of thought. I am not a medical person, so I don't want to say too much in generalization about liver problems..ect..I can only speak of my own experiences.

tylenol is what damages the liver. vicodin has 500mg of tylenol in each tablet of  hydrocodone 5/500 (which is vicodin). vicodin is used commonly for moderate/severe pain that they have started manufacturing tablets with less tylenol... lortab 5/325...lortab 10/325...lortab 10/500mg. percoet also has tylenol as well as the darvocets.

MOGa...from reading your posts i gathered you were a woman of strength and poise...warm smiles...i always liked you. thru this post i send you my best thoughts and more strength to help you go forth!

Welcome back home MoGa.  from what I remember my doctor telling me t is one of the fairly innocuous chemicals found in many over the counter headache tablets that damages the liver and even fairly small amounts taken regularly over a long period of time can impact on your LFT's and lead to damage.

If it is any comfort to you I had over 70% of my liver removed a couple of years ago (not for the same reason) and even though I felt like I had been hit by a truck (a BIG truck) for a while after the surgery I am now fantastic and my liver scans are all excellent.  I think within 2 months my liver had grown back to the pre-surgery size.  Please feel free to contact me on the other side if you ever want to know a bit about my experience.

I wish you the best, please keep your wonderful attitude.

Welcome back MoGa. We all had missed your humor and your wisdom here on the boards. With an attitude like you have, I believe you'll be around for at least 20-30 years!
