ORIGINAL: Surrenderwithin For those who identify as a pet, rather than another term, what does that mean to you Being a pet means I wish to belong to someone. To be useful and pleasing to them. My job would is to assist them in a variety of capacities, depending on their needs, wants, and desires. It is a position, not a purpose. It is also an acknowledgement that I choose my position; instead of my personality dictating it. quote:
and how is that different in your mind than some of the more common terminologies for a bottom, submissive, girl, boy, boi, slave, etc.? I’ve read many posts by others stating they have a need to be controlled, or to serve; I have neither. I do not believe it is accurate to claim I can give control to another. My understanding of the human mind is such, the best I can offer is to choose to control myself, under the authority of another. My preferred mode of serving under the authority of another, becomes a desire, once I have found someone I have compatible interest with and believe to be honorable. If I find I was mistaken, the desire becomes dormant. Also, I do not find myself obligated to stay in a relationship that has become harmful to me. My passion for being in a successful D/s relationship, comes from my discovery that the dynamic, and many of its activities, can be useful in my endeavors of understanding myself, and the world around me; and my search for greater truths. Besides that, they have proven to be an excellent means for becoming refocused, when being human gets to be overwhelming. Thank you for asking the questions I’ve been wanting to answer for a long time. Kimberly
