To the male subs:  If a guy chats, meets, and generally seems interested and then suddenly says something to the effect of "I don't know if I'm ready for a relationship yet", what is the psychology here?

I've met two such types in the last 6 months and I only slept/played with one of them.  So my immediate thought is it wasn't "using for sex". 

I guess I don't understand why guys meet me to figure this out.  Maybe motive isn't that easily generalized.

Have you said this to someone?  Why did you say it?

Their wife/girlfriend is getting suspicious of their behavior.

Or they are just being polite and don't actually want to see you.  This happens a lot.  Just because you think they are interested in you does not mean they are.

Particularly if someone is lonely, they want to date someone so they make sure to be polite and sound interesting.  But the next day they realize that they just can not put up with 'X', no matter how lonely they are, so they end the relationship, despite sounding very interested on the last date.

Or he's just not ready for a relationship at this time. People may really want something but they just don't have the time for it or just simply not ready. It might be they thought they were ready for a ds relationship and realized after it started they are not ready to take that step yet.

Reason why i would seek an excuse is in case the Domme or Mistress isn't that dominant at all.
About those two... they might not be that sub by the way. Or may just need time to order some stuff in their heads. Dunno. :)
