What do you think about making floggers out of the rubber from heavy duty bungee cords? I personally like the sting over that of and sort of leather I've felt.

I've had one for years made from several of the thick flat black rubber tie downstraps... http://www.capcityequipment.com/grope0993.html The thumb shaped ends where the 'S' hooks were, land like little fists... in sequence like a drum roll. I also went to a truck stop and got a 40 inch tie down strap and made a solid rubber single tail by cutting the tip into a diamond point. Most people think those are on the severe end of things, but my current sub's reaction is literally 'Wheeee!' If you mean the classic cloth covered bungee, I tried these.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/miikas/198896800/ ...with the tips dipped in latex to stop them from fraying..didn't care for the way they handled.

I like the idea using the 40" tie down strap :) thinking I'll have to see about one of them. Thanks

I prefer to make my rubber floggers out of 1/8th inch thick red sheet rubber-about 18 inches long. With the strands cut about 3/16" wide and the ends forked into points. The sensation is a bit like being attacked by a nest of hornets..

Hm - I craft floggers. I'd hate to absolutely change the thread subject, so I'll just ask in passing - could anyone describe the different sensations of rubber and leather, and perhaps metal, from expirience for me?

Rubber has much more of a sting....actually Id like to say it "bites" with real sharp teeth! In comparison to leather, leather inflicts absolutly NO pain when set side by side to rubber

Hm. That sounds promising. The floggers I make are leather, tipped with metal beads. Rubber sounds rather promising. I wouldn't have to take the time to tip the ends anymore for more bite.

There is/was a local (Colorado) rubber flogger maker. Fluffy Bunny Whips. Their site is down, so I don't know if they're still making stuff, but what I like about the rubber floggers is they can be cleaned, unlike leather.

I adore my rubber floggers, I have two, one has thin tails and as my beloved slave has stated, "feels like 30 single tails landing on my back at once" The other is much wider tails, a different sting/bite sensation. The are much more aggressive then most leathers, and much easier to clean. Alexandra ~
