RiotGirl -> The Devils Rejects and others (11/17/2005 11:17:13 PM)

Ooooo <rubs hands together> i've been watching a few films

The devils Rejects
Strangland
Exit to Eden

What did you all think?

Like the book "exit to eden" sort of, the movie stunk as it would be related to the book. As a movie, it was ok

the devils rejects was good.... expect not enough torture and murder in it. (i'm twisted)

THO, my favorite part was when her husbands face was attached to her face and the maid came in and they both started screaming and then the wife gets slammed by a truck as she's running for help. (screen by screen when it came to the truck.. ja know her body literally split into two)

Strangeland, not so bad.. but again not enough torture and death.

Havent seen a house of a 1000 corpses, but looking forward to doing so. Some one suggested the House of Wax to me. Anyone know anything about that?

As far as the story of O 2, it was crap and skipped so much of it. Not enough torture in it, too much descripting of the "layout" of everything. Gawd, i could care less about her dress.

Though, the only BAD thing about these non consenual torturing movies is it gives a really bad view on S/m

what do others think? And anyone know any movies with lots of torture, murder, sex in it? <grins> Anyone know if a House of a 1000 corpses is good. i think i like Rob Zombie's mind (he's twisted)

anyone know any, actually, maybe if i'm lucky, good BDSM (not porn) movies? *and dont suggest the secretary*

thanks

I loved "House of 1,000 Corpses", but I have yet to see "Devil's Rejects". I'm looking forward to it, though. I'm a horror movie geek.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: The Devils Rejects and others (11/18/2005 5:59:17 AM)

I'm a horror movie geek too, but didn't like 1000 Corpses much at all, the narrative just sort of bumbled around and I felt like it was a "Just how many ways can we make the audience cringe" sort of thing.

Personally I like Exit to Eden a LOT, in that it was very funny, cute story. If you want a movie that's just like it without the kink (well not a lot) check out Undercover Blues.

But I think I like it because I could just enjoy the fantasy of it, NOT analyze it as a "true lifestyler" and enjoy the campiness about it. I like to laugh at myself.

The only reason I liked Gothika was because of the rape/drug/kidnap/murder concept they showed.

I enjoyed House of 1000 corpses just for the oddness and freakiness of it. I agree about Gothika. It intrigued me because of the rape/kidnapping aspect of it. Plus I love good ghost stories. Saw 2 was extremely gory and a good twist at the end. I haven't seen Devil's Rejects yet. I heard it was basically a soft porn of baby girl. But she is hot so I guess thats ok [;)]

Any horror movie fan should be familiar with Hitchcock..."Marnie" is my fav.

Just watched The Devils Rejects last night. Not a bad movie for a sequel really. Not a good one, but not bad...

Gotta love Captain Spaulding, LOL!

I loved House of 1,000 Corpses! Rob Zombie is just awesome. I haven't seen Devils Rejects yet, but we're doing a movie night here next week, and it's top on the list.
House of Wax was okay, it had some good parts, the graphics are excellent. Personally, I liked the black and white version better.

If you haven't seen the newer version of Texas Chainsaw Masacre it's pretty good. And I love the Japanese horror movies too, Grudge, The Ring (2 kinda sucked). Constantine was pretty good too if you like that kind of movie (think along the lines of Stigmata).

I'm into the murder and mayhem movies too lol.

I've never seen the Story of O, have heard a lot of mixed reviews about it. I enjoyed the Secretary though.

I loved House of 1,000 Corpses and thought The Devil's Rejects was pretty good. I guess there's just something about the way Rob Zombie directs that I really enjoy. Not so much of the pop-out-of-the-shadows-and-yell-BOO!-type horror, as seems to be the method of most horror movie directors....but rather more of an eerie-these-guys-are-really-fucked-in-the-head type of horror flick. I hope he continues to make movies.

Chaingang -> RE: The Devils Rejects and others (11/18/2005 2:43:14 PM)

If you let the fiction as reality sink in, I found the German films "Nekromantic" and "Nekromantic 2- Return of the Loving Dead" fairly twisted. I always liked "Color Me Blood Red" also ( a moldy oldie). For a mainstream film the unrated "Return of the Living Dead 3" with Melinda Clarke is pretty cool. And while you will all laugh, I also like "Caligula" for its many scenes of debauchery (sadly, Guccione thinks he can edit Gore Vidal - bah!).
