Morgan Freeman, in my opinion, is one of the best actors and narrators of modern times. CBS news reports Morgan Freeman being airlifted to Memphis after being in a severe car crash in Mississippi.

I agree, Morgan Freeman just has that "something" that's always made him an outstanding actor. I hope he fully recovers!

He's one of mine, too, have loved him ever since I saw The Shawshank Redemption way back. BTW, if anyone hasn't seen The Bucket List yet, it's an awesome movie and one of his best roles yet, IMO.

Broken arm and other injuries, but they say he is resting comfortably and talking with people, so it could have been much worse.

I've been a fan of Morgan Freeman ever since his days on the Electric Company. Okay, not really - but his is one of our best and I am glad to see that it looks like he will recover. My prayers go out to him.

I just read a story that says he was conscious and at one point was joking with rescue workers. Apparently he lost control of his vehicle and rolled it several times. He is ex-military and a real down to earth guy. My best frend works at a private airport that he flies in and out of frequently and says he like to sit down and chat with people while he's there. He has my respect. The Bucket List is absolutely a fantastic movie. Some kid at the theater tried to talk me out of watching it. I'm glad I didn't listen. Truly a great movie. Dolf

When I heard the first sketchy reports, I was afraid it was the Highway 61 to Memphis/ Bessie Smith curse, but apparently he was on the other side of Clarksdale.

On a personal note, in addition to being a great fan of his cinematic career, I've benefitted enormously from the support he has given to living blues musicians in Clarksdale and Memphis, at his Ground Zero clubs, and Madidi. And when my son was starting his career as a stage director, Morgan was one of the established people who encouraged him in many ways. Very glad this accident wasn't worse.
