I am very sorry to hear that, Lashra.  That type of responsibility weighs very heavy.  Remember to take care of yourself while taking care of your folks.

so sorry to hear Lashra, that is a very hard thing to go thru.  sounds like mom is in a bit of a state herself, can't deal with the reality.  i hope she comes to her senses soon, your dad needs all his family at this time.  thanks to all for their well wishes, and i hope the rest of the summer is great for everyone!

Let's see... what have I done this summer?  Gone camping 5 times, gone out to the lake with the boat several times for day trips, took a road trip to southern Tennessee for several days and swung down through Houston on the way back to Oklahoma for grins and giggles, built a deck, relandscaped my yard, did a LOT of painting (currently working on a darker landscape piece) .... helped a couple of friends move, got to know my 8month old goddaughter a bit better.......

yeah, it's been a pretty full summer - and for the first time in 2 years, actually Quiet on the medical front.

See my new photos...

I took two weeks and took my UM tent camping. Places visited include the Craters Of The Moon National Monument, Idaho; Teton Dam failure site, Id; Teton Dam Museum (Rexburg, Id); Grand Teton National Park, Wy; Yellowstone National Park, Wy, Id, Mt; the wilds of Montana and Wyoming, Big Hole National Battlefield, Montana; Lewis & Clark caves, Montana; Challis, Idaho; Salmon, Id; Stanley, Id; Lowman, Id; then home, very tired, happy, worn out, but with hundreds of great photos and tons of great memories. Caught some trout, saw a lot of wildlife and scenery.. and had no problems of any kind!

My summer has been really good. My friends and I rented a condo in Manistee Michigan right on Lake Michigan for a week. It was beautiful, too cold to swim but a really relaxing fun time. I've gone to a lot of concerts, Pitchfork, Lollapalooza, Death Cab for Cutie with Rogue Wave, REM with the National and Modest Mouse. My birthday was a complete blast. The only thing that was a bummer which happened to be the thing I looked forward to the most was the Pride parade in Chicago. I had a spat with a friend and overall it was just a disappointing experience.

My last summer was awful though, I was really broke, and the one vacation I went on to DC was miserable. Extremely hot and muggy, OH! And food poisoning.

Spent a good couple of months commuting to Clarksdale, working on a friend's CD that just came back from the presses this morning, and sounds incredible.

This summer I have done nothing but work at a drug store. Break up with a unmedicated bi-polar ex boyfriend. Get ready to go to college (Woo hoo College). Read books, obtain libary fees and spend money that I didn't know I had on things I can't remember!! I still haven't gotten my Josephine Baker tattoo or my septum pierced. Trying hard to get that done before the summer over =/.

Rebuilt my house and created a leather shop.
