All time favorite was probably a music history teacher in high school. I took ten classes of his, and did an individual study program with him one semester. I also had a piano teacher in high school who made a huge impact on me. Two hours a week of one-on-one time with him for four years. How I hated him at times, but I had a lot of respect for him, and our hard work paid off. My twelfth grade British literature teacher was also wonderful. He had a way of inspiring everyone in the class, and made it unlike any other literature class I ever took. We watched Trainspotting, listened to Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. We had to write satirical essays in the style of Swift's A Modest Proposal. We learned some Middle English, then each student had to take turns reading parts of The Canterbury Tales to class. Mass humiliation!
