anal play!!! Woot woot (party time)

Seriously though, Master and i were having a converstion today about it.

Personally, since Master and i dont engage in it very often, i think i should be notified BEFORE he decides he's gonna pop one on. Or does any play in that area. For proper cleaning techniques. Because personally, i like to use enema's. So since we dont do much in that area, i think it'd be really NICE if Master would inform me ahead of time.

Now he says, i should just do an enema every day on the off chance that he decides he's going to want to. Now of course, my reponse is but thats like 1% chance out of 99%. Which of course his response being, (lol) but there is still that one percent! (so i dropped it down to .05% chance.. hehehehe)

From what i know, its not all that healthy to do an enema every day (which i OF course told Him)

i know there is no "proper" way to do anal play (LOLOLOL) And it is all really subject to his desire. If he looked at me and said "do it every day", there would be no need for this.

So for the sake of proving i'm right <wicked smile>

Who here Notifies and or gets notified of anal play BEFORE anything takes a nose dive in that direction? And who here does an enema every day (or every other day) for the off chance that once in awhile things head in that direction??

(and this time Master suggested i ask everyone.. and as i just read this to Master i agreed with myself that its abit personal, but hey we're talking about my rear end!)

"Can one do too many enemas? "

"Yes. The number of enemas that a person can/should do is a very individual thing. I think that most people can “listen to their body” on this one. I do know many people who have taken daily enemas for years due to a poor functioning colon and don’t feel well unless they do this. However, if you have a concern that you might be doing too many enemas, I would encourage you to contact me personally for further consultation."

i don't know a lot about enemas, but i remembered reading that booklet so i went back and quoted it. i hope it helps to some degree.

I agree that advance notice should be given when he is planning play in that region. It's only fair. It will give you a chance to be all clean and ready and you will still be healthy. I would say that it doesn't have to be a huge notice, but enough time so that you can properly prepare yourself [:)]

OscarHargraves -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/18/2005 10:42:33 PM)

Hi RiotGirl,

I for one like anal a lot so my Sub is usually prepared for that. I don't know if she does the enema thing every time or what but I do know that I very seldom have to warn her. She just assumes that I'm going to want that and is ready. She has never asked me to warn her that I wanted anything and I've never done that. Maybe I should say that the one exception to that has been when I was in a pretty violent mood and wanted a rape scene. I have tried to warn her about that and she has always dealt with it easily enough. I do know from other (reliable) sources that a person should NOT use enemas every day. They can in fact be harmful and create some serious medical problems. I would suggest that you talk to your family doctor or a protologist before doing that.

The other question I have is timing. What good is the enema if you take it in the morning and he wants you that way at night? Your system will have already proceesed the contents of your stomach and moved it into the bowels by then so the enema was effectively useless.

perfection20005 -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 7:20:09 AM)

I agree with OscarHargraves on this subject. Both Master and myself enjoy anal play so I just expect it. I don't use enemas before or after anal play. I have never had a problem. Using a enema daily is dangerous. Your body gets used to having a BM that way and eventually that will be the only way you can have one.

siamsa24 -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 7:28:47 AM)

But I thought that she said that he didn't want it daily, but rather infrequently. Although I may have misunderstood.

angelynne -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 9:24:16 AM)

Hello all.

i get advance notice... when i feel lube being squirted on my bum.
i don't believe enemas are necessary at all, they're good for play or for a cleansing ritual but certainly not required for anal sex. it's enough to wash yourself in the shower.
i doubt you will find anyone who will agree a daily enema is a good idea.... but if you do it frequently make sure to use a saline solution and not plain water, as the water will absorb too quickly, overdilute your blood and make you very sick.

just my 2 cents

That is, pun intended, a load of crap. I've used a shower shot every morning for years with no problems whatsoever. I still have normal bowel movements in the afternoon/evening.

Unless you're taking large retention enemas, flushing yourself out on a daily basis isn't going to cause any problems for you and certainly isn't going to cause hyponatremia.

Ooooo, I like it! I am going to get one for myself!

angelynne -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 12:52:12 PM)

i was under the impression when she said "enema" she meant a full enema as opposed to a quick squirt of water. if what you're thinking of when you say enema is using one of those little squirt nozzles with the bulb on the end, that cant put more than, maybe a cup or so of water in you, and does nothing more than rinse out the last few inches of your bum, i can't see that being dangerous to do on a daily basis. still not necessary, but if it helps you feel cleaner for those activities, i dont see that as being much different than washing in the shower.

my apologies for misunderstanding.

edited to add, i just looked up that "shower shot" thing... seems to be nothing more than an anal douche so to speak.. i see no danger in rinsing out the bum like that on a daily basis. looks like it could be used for vaginal too and now i'm suddenly interested in getting one....

darkinshadows -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 4:03:49 PM)

Medically, enemas can become addictive - bother mentally and physically - a persons body can become so accustomed to them they fail to function 'normally'. There is nothing wrong with that until you decide to stop - then the body can go through withdrawl. Every body is different and the 'cold turkey' will be different for everyone. This is fine as long as you can handle it and are aware that it can occur.

Peace and Love

Do you know of any medical literature that substantiates this? A brief Google foray doesn't come up with anything that supports this claim.

The only enema I've ever had was when I was in labour with my son. It was not the most pleasant experience [:'(] Whenever Master mentions enemas I always make the "warding off evil" sign at Him [;)]

I've only had anal sex a handful of times but never had a problem.

angelynne -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 5:25:29 PM)

my breif google foray gave me this:

Warning on taking enema daily:

The majority of people should not use enema daily.

Do not use enema daily for longer then 7 - 10 days or you risk getting addicted to enema!
Enema addiction means that you will not be able to naturally empty your rectum without help of enema / laxative.
Using any laxative for longer then 7 - 10 days may cause addiction.
May. Some people were using enema daily for several months, and didn't get addicted. Every person is different, there are no strict rules.

taken from www.curezone.com, whether that is a legit medical source i don't know.
Also, i "assume" they are referring to regular enemas and not simple anal douches.

stef -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 5:52:12 PM)

Yes, I saw that site too. I was referring to actual medical documentation.

~stef

angelynne -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 6:25:28 PM)

i couldn't find any actual medical documentation on non-medical enemas at all, but now i'm extremely curious about it myself. i took the liberty of posting in the "ask a dr" section of webmd.com. will post if/when i get a response.

thanks to the OP, this has turned out to be quite an interesting topic.

girl4you2 -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/19/2005 11:05:07 PM)

try doing a medical journal research instead of a lay person's general ghoogle search. the words may be technical, but usually it's fairly easy to find a translation. there is quite a bit of medical data regarding frequency and solutions and effects. i wish you well.

angelynne -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/20/2005 6:51:27 AM)

thank you for the advice, but that's actually the problem i'm having.... i registered on JAMA so i could read some of the articles... found PLENTY on medical enemas... but nothing on plain water enemas administered daily for cleanlinesss purposes. i'm certain there is something out there, someone had to have researched it at some point, i just can't find it. that's why i posted the other site, i figured since this is not a "medical" issue that a website on homeopathic cures having a warning would be good enough. but apparently not... so the next step for me was to find a place where i could pose a direct question to a doctor. to go beyond that, aside from paying for a visit to my personal doctor, i'm not sure where else to look.
i did get a reply on webmd... which i will post because it "seems" like good information, although i have no way of verifying whether this person is a "real" doctor or not.

The main health concern with daily enemas is that with such use, the body soon becomes dependent on the use of such.

Food/waste moves through the GI tract through a series of wave like motions, called peristalsis. The muscles along the gut relax and constrict to move food along and eventually, to eliminate solid waste through a bowel movement.

Enemas work by irritating nerve endings in the colon, causing evacuation of this area. As with any muscle in the body, one "loses" it if they don't "use" it regularly.

The constant use of enemas causes these muscles to become "lazy" and lose tone with the unpleasant result that once enema usage is stopped, problems with constipation, bloating and impaction can occur.

Your friend does not need an enema to be clean for anal intercourse. A high fiber diet, fluids and a trip to the bathroom for a bowel movement before engaging in anal sex will "clean out" the rectum which is the only part of the body the penis is in contact with during this activity.

That is the best i could do.... if anyone cares to continue searching please do, i would certainly be interested in seeing real medical research on this topic. I just can't find anymore ways to get information. Sorry if i annoyed anyone, hopefully my efforts helped at least one person (the OP) in her quest for answers... if not i'm sorry i couldn't help more.

respectfully submitted

pandoravampire -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (11/24/2005 3:42:18 AM)

I love anal.
I get to 41, never had to use a enema, never had any 'accidents', then meet mr new guy, he's bigger, can go for longer and suddenly, the whole world drops out my arse to greet him.
I learnt about enema's pretty bloody quickly!!!

Sometimes, i get a sms, 'prepare and cleanse all that belongs to me' translates to have a enema. Other times, my notice is as short as him spitting on my anus.

But if he will sneak up behind me, so to speak, he's gonna get dirty sometimes. Shit happens lol

AnneThrax -> RE: Advice on proper.. um... (7/30/2006 11:26:23 AM)

The easiest thing, if you want to minimize the santorum, is a quick squirt with an enema/ear syringe. As noted above, all you're doing is cleaning out the rectum, not the colon. I usually insist that my subbies clean themselves out before we play, since I love butt-fucking the boys, but loathe the mess.
