For myself

what fulfilled me in a relationship was knowing that HE was able to release some tension by using me

That's it. Nothing more and nothing less

I sure do miss those beatings

Today I got to see a huge jackrabbit scurrying across a field.  :) I will be happy all day.
For me it only takes seeing a squirrel happily chomping on a nut, a rabbit, a bird in flight, a kid giggling, or a smile from an unexpected source.
Life.. is fullfilling.

Status: offline 		Psychology and biology, and doing well in both. Getting merit scholarships. Being inducted into university and national honor societies.

In a D/s context, service-oriented things, and managing to submit when I really don't feel like it (but making it seem like I really do).

Status: offline 		Within the realm of my M/s relationship it is knowing that I give him great pleasure and joy. Him telling me I am a good girl or a kind word from him, him telling me he loves me, me serving him. 
 
In regular life, fulfillment comes when the old parents thank me for holding their hands as needed, even though at the time they resent the daughter being the parent. thank yous from my siblings for being the one that primarily assists the parents, taking them to the doctors, taking them shopping or just listening. Knowing that I am doing my paid job well and the thank yous from the boss for doing so. 
 
In seeing the beauty and miracles every day brings. Sometimes it is the miracle of seeing the moon and stars, the beauty of the flowers and tree, the hawks along the fences looking for food as I commute 50 miles to work. Hearing from long lost friends and catching up on our lives even if distance does not allow us to see one another on a regular basis.

I agree with you here. There are times I know he needs to release all the stress from the work week and having to put all those men at the shop in their place..so letting him take it out on my body then when he grins and says thanks I feel so much better the fulfillment I get is overflowing.

Or theres a smile they give for a job well done. I love it. Thank you is nice,but sometimes a look says more than those words ever will. IMO

Status: offline 		I agree with on this subject.........I like who and where i am in this journey through life......i'm happy and contented......everything else is icing on the cake!   

Being in a solid D/s relationship, knowing i'm serving someone well...bringing happiness to his life in whatever way i can, and hearing that "good girl"  does make me heart happier too......
