I miss subway lines and buses that make it possible to get anywhere in the city.
I miss being able to change ethnic areas within walking distance of one another
I miss having friendswho spoke 14 different languages and had names anyone not in our circle couldnt pronounce
I miss the ice cream man
I miss chinese delivery
I miss the ability to go out on the street and flag down a cab to go somewhere instead of having to call in advance.

I miss being able to ask my parents for help with some major stuff and not being made to feel like I am totally incompetent and useless as well as (to borrow the word) a complete fucktard.

I miss those funny tai smoothy things with tapioca in it.

Weirdest drink in the world... but strangely addicting

And GOOD hot and sour soup... I haven't had any for yearrrrs!

I do miss knowing every one of my neighbors, and spening hot days out on the porch chatting with whomever wandered over
I miss pickup games of basketball or flag football
I miss heading out to the store, yelling at a friend you see sitting on their porch and having company for your trip
