quote:
ORIGINAL: MasterAramis I tend to wonder if someone at the age [of 18] really knows what they are. While I have a dominant personality, I knew squat about myself at 18 and based on my experience in the lifestyle with people at that age and two children who are now over that age, I think that is the norm. Sincerely, Aramis Duval As someone at the age of 19, I find that a lot of the disparaging and condescending remarks made about people my age are offensive. It is true that I don't know who or what I am, and I don't claim to. But that's not a bad thing. I'm still growing and forming myself into the person I will become. Right now, that means that I believe myself to be submissive. On the other hand, a lot of old *cough* make that older people don't know themselves as well as they may think either. The mind and personality are very complex things and I don't think that anyone can completely know themselves. For one person, being shaped by someone older and more experienced may be their path, for someone else they may want to shape and be shaped by someone as equally inexperienced as they are. quote:
ORIGINAL: Dnomyar Most of the 18 -25 year olds who post on here think that they are way more mature and wiser that 43 years olds. Making assumptions about the minds and opinions of people you have probably never spoken to, just because they are young is not a nice thing to do. It is also unflattering to you. I may not have experienced as much as someone twice my age, but that does not mean my experiences have not been as varied or as intellectually stimulating. Which is better: maturity caused by the quality of experiences or by the quantity?
