Fulfillment of self.  I imagine that's the goal of all relationships we choose for ourselves- Ds, Ms, vanilla, cracker jack, motherhood, working, etc.  It's all just me becoming who I want to be and being true to myself.

Whatever specific form it takes is just details.

i agree, it all depends of the needs of the people in the relationship, the most basic being the fulfillment of self.

I agree with what ever one else said, the goals  of the relationship is what the two people involved want them to be.

Goal in d/s - to have fun the majority of the time!

Goal in m/s - weird .. but also to have fun the majority of the time!

I do what I do because I love doing it. If I didn't love it, I'd be doing something else. I'm quite sure that if Himself didn't love it as well, he, too, would be doing something else. I'm his E-Ticket ride at Disneyland and I love being used that way for our mutual pleasure.

Living as a slave is as entertaining as all get out. I adore being mind fucked, sucked in to various sensations, flying in subspace, serving with all my heart, laughing like a little kid and just enjoying the company of Himself on a daily basis.

Is it all fun and games 100% of the time? No, of course not .. but the vast majority of the time, damn skippy it's fun and those times when it's not so fun just enhance and make me appreciate the rest of the time even more.

Who said .. this ain't rocket science? Yeah.. that guy.. what he said.

I feel like this is a cop-out answer, but the answer will be unique to each individual D/s or M/s relationship.

That being said, my personal goal for an M/s relationship is to explore the boundaries of trust and what it means to own/be owned. A D/s relationship has no goals beyond meeting my basic relationship needs.

I would think the same as any relationship of any sort, to be happy in the relationship and be comfortable with each other.

I agree, I would also add that I have never seen a healthy relationship of ANY kind where the parties involved were not ultimately fulfilling their own needs and desires. Even the slaveliest of slaves, who some may say is only concerned about the fulfillment of their Master, gets their own fulfillment from being his fulfillment. The bottom line is that people do what they ultimately find fulfilling...unless of course they aren't emotionally healthy.

Whats with the "Vs"? the fundamental goal is the same, just the people are different.

D/s = Two people wired for some degree of power exchange, complimenting each others needs and being fulfilling for both

M/s = Two people wired for total power exchange (Ownership), complimenting each others needs and being fulfilling for both

I see no "Vs" there, just people able to live fully as who they are. There is only a Vs if one or the other is trying to be something they are not.

Whatever those involved want the goals to be; there is no universal goal that everyone strives to attain.

Funny thing is that I asked this same question at Fetlife and got an answer that had something to do with the relationship dynamics, power exchange, etc. Makes me beg the question if I had asked this first before posting my opinions in the other post would I have gotten a different answer.

Actually, the goal is for the D/s'ers and M/s'ers to get together at munches and tagteam ridicule the spankos and Goths for being fake.

And when we are not being sidetracked by our ridicule of the spankos, Goths, and players, the goal is for people who identify as M/S to make as many underhanded comments about how the submissive is really in control and how the D/S relationship is lacking in comparision because of their use of limits, safewords, and negotation while the D/Sers do their best to portray people who identify as M/S as abusive, unhealthy, and codepedant control freaks and doormats.

Based on your previous thread, you have alreay scored a few points for your team.

*snicker*

At a Houston event a few weeks ago an announcer said "Coming up guys is something you've never seen before!" and I said "What?  Kinky people being polite to eachother?"

Got a few laughs.  It's funny because it's true.
