MilitaryMichael -> Pro Domme? Sessions Vs. Clients? (8/9/2008 1:15:44 AM)

I am fairly new...

What is this difference between a Professional (PRO) Domme/Mistress and someone who just says they are not a PRO? Do PRO's charge money to see them?

Also, if i see a profile that says they are seeking "Clients" or "only sessions" does this mean they charge money? or is this a term used as a introduction session to see if there is chemistry?

Thank you so much for taking the time to appease this new soul.

Michael.

Being new is hard. You should try looking over these forums I'm sure you could find the answers to many of your questions.

Pro domme's (and subs and doms, etc. with the "pro" in front of it) charge money, yes. those looking for clients charge money. Looking for sessions could be either way.

Lifestyle domme's don't charge, they do it for the love, but may want more than a few sessions, so many people go to pro domme's because it's no strings, they get what they want, etc.

Since your profile says Laura is looking for a pro for you, you'd better figure out what that is, and if it's what you want.  If what you're looking for is someone with experience, you don't necessarily need a pro.

Good luck in your search.

 Michael,

your profile says your friend is looking for a Domme for you who is professional.  She probably means a Domme with experience and expertise.  "Professional" in the context of Dommes means ones that charge money.  But Dommes that don;t charge money are not to be called "amateurs".   That really annoys them.  They are called "lifestylers".  But most Professional Dommes are also lifestylers....

....you don't need to be new to find the nomenclature confusing!!!!

I believe this is just a flame at the Pro Dommes thread lol.

Hardly rocket science, what a Professional Domme is, especially as it is stated in his profile.

Titters away in her 8 inched heels lol

Any one who can titter in 8 inch heels has my respect! <smile>

And just FYI - Just because a woman calls herself a Pro Domme and charges you money doesn't necessarily mean that she's been 'trained' or knows anything more than a Life styler. Like any other profession, there are good ones and not so good ones.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Pro Domme? Sessions Vs. Clients? (8/9/2008 5:44:07 AM)

The best way to find out what someone meas in their profile is to ask them.
If they state they are a Pro, that means the are loking for professional contacts.
If they are looking for clients, then clients pay.
If they are looking for sessions, it might be becasue they have no desire to have a full time submissive or slave of their own and just want occasional play, or it might be a different version of looking for clients while avoiding the buzzword.
Not all lifestylers are "free" services, either... some require tribute, others require a longterm committment before they will even consider you.

You and your friend might want to consider asking the women you are looking for what they expect... becasue no one else can tell you what is going on in their heads.

At ease.

Fine line here Michael.

Calling ones self a "Pro", does not necessarily make ones self a "Pro".

Unless they're in the WWF of course.

"Pro" does "generally" specify compensation of some sort.

"Generally" moola. (This is in no way a reflection on our lovely BBW "Pros")

For most others, pie usually does the trick.

Not that anyone is turning tricks here.

Now drop and give me twenty.

Dollars that is.

Hey, gotta make a livin.

Oh lord, yes!  Thank you for bringing that one up, DV.  Just because some of us are 'lifestyle' does not translate to "Free Kinky Sex"!  Don't frelling approach any Domme like she's a free prostitute with paddle in her hand.  You're most likely to get yourself ignored.  Possibly bitched at in a very un-fun way and THEN kicked to the curb.

'Compensation' and 'Tribute' do not have to be monetary or even tangible.  I enjoy gifts... just like any other human being does.  But gifts can be your time, your attention, your adoration.  If you can't or won't give tangible compensation for a woman's time, you better be willing to give her part of yourself.  Just like any other relationship.  You wouldn't walk up to a strange woman in a bar and ask her to go up to your room and give you a blow job before you introduce yourself.  Don't ask a Domme to spank you before you offer her something - at least your friendship - first!

Yup, a professional dom/top is someone who make an income in a clear exchange of dom/top play for pay.  Just like exchanging with a plumber, lawyer, baby sitter, whatever...  want their time?  Pay the set fee for negotiated work/skill/role/time.

If someone says they are only seeking "clients", then yes, it's a 99.999999999% chance that they are a pro (that 0.000000001% being those who use "client" in a role-playing manner).  Only "seeking sessions" is more ambivalent, generally I'd say yes they are pro but there are some people who use that phrasing to indicate that they are purely seeking play partners or non-committed scening.

You put your titters in eight-inch heels?  That's really impressive.  I usually put mine in a bra.

paulr1980 -> RE: Pro Domme? Sessions Vs. Clients? (8/9/2008 3:17:27 PM)

Hi Mike.

Yes, those saying they are looking for "clients" are basically professionals being paid or needing money to sexually stimulate.  While I have nothing against what two consenting people do, I personally find professionals to be automatically suspect of their claim to being truly dominant.  Today nearly everyone's aunt and sister can go by the "domme" titlte.  Often those claiming to be "domme" are switches or even sub.  I know guys play these games with women, but it still doesn't justify the lying.  I am big on honesty and being up front from the start about it.  If a woman wants to put on an act in a catsuit, fine.  But that is just a role she is playing if being paid as far as I am concerned.  Similarly, you come across every so often a woman who might have a site claiming she is not a pro but expecting some "tribute" or payment for something, be it to have access to her site or what have you, all while she is claiming she is not a prodom and usually very critical and harsh on the professional community, claiming that she is the real deal and the others are fakes.  Its such hypocracy.  Run from these women.  True dominant woman, I have found, are not stuck on titles, have no websites, which usually is a sign of some other agenda that is either motivated for financial gain or motivated by some unsaid pyschological and emotional issue--or both.  Real dominant women can be found in as ordinary places as the grocery store.  And more women are dominant than they even know.  I find that your nature can bring that out in a woman and attract them to you.  Women in general love a man that can be vulnerable to them and who they can trust opening up to and being vulnerable to as well.  This is the purest connection you can have with another woman and if you find that great match, you both are as much slaves as masters to one another over time.  It's rare compared to mere vanilla relationships, but frequent enough to be found and had if you genuinely look for it.

MsCfromMelbourne -> RE: Pro Domme? Sessions Vs. Clients? (8/9/2008 6:07:09 PM)

Eerm........but the right pro-domme can completely rock your world and blow your mind.  She can be the shining high point of a man's otherwise mediocre suburban existence

For example, mal is unashamedly besotted with his pro-domme  http://www.collarchat.com/m_2051959/tm.htm

Live and let live......

TexasMaam -> RE: Pro Domme? Sessions Vs. Clients? (8/9/2008 9:30:24 PM)

I refer to any BDSM activity as 'a session' or 'sessions'.  It's the word that I use to designate a bracket of time set aside for BDSM 'play' or 'activities' as opposed to vanilla sex.  If I tell My sub I want him to set up for a 'session' Wednesday night then he knows I'm not talking about watching a DVD from netflicks...it cues him that more specific instructions will follow.

"Session" does not = "Pro Domme- Pay Me".

It is also common for Dominants, whether Dom or Domme, to 'session' other submissives with whom they are not otherwise involved.  But you'll learn more about that when you attend a few munches or group activities.
