ORIGINAL: CallaFirestormBW One thing that strikes me is the number of definitions (about half) that mention something imaginary, fanciful, or overtly idealized... Just sayin... Calla Firestorm It's what the dictionary suggested...... *nodding* I understood that -- I think that what I was trying to get across is that so many people go hunting for this "romantic" relationship... but if you look at the dictionary definition, in a lot of cases, the whole 'romance' thing is a red herring -- it is a fantasy or false idealism of what the perceiver -wants- the relationship and person to be, rather than a real reflection of what he or she is. I guess I'm just not a "romantically oriented" person... I believe that everyone has a 'skewed' perception -- that, to me, is the whole point of being an individual human -- so that each person can perceive and explore living from his or her very own perception... but I guess, for me, I don't feel compelled to "dress up" a person or thing to make them more like what I fantasize about, instead of just accepting, for good or ill, who they -are-. That's kinda what I was trying to imply without spelling it all out. *shrugs* CFB
