This is a query for any others here who either are synesthetic themselves, or have played with people who have this.

I have what would be termed in the normal world, a 'fetish' for chain. Its not a true fetish, it is a synethetic response the sound and colour of chromed chain. I feel the sound intensely, also chrome on anything is a very nice feeling. My D uses this knowledge and incorporates this when he plays with me, taking time to realise that my synethesia is one way. ie. although i can smell violets in subspace, the smell of violets does not enhance my ability to get there.
But all restraints are made of chain, because the sound they make has a intense sensation effect on me.

For others who have knowledge of this, how do you incorporate this in your play. What im after is ways to monopolise on this and to provoke some discussion.

that explains the name i guess

if you do a google on it, you can do a test on line. There is currently a lot of research into this, since the advent of available MRI and CAT scanners. and universities will bombard you with requests to 'study' you. I forgotten the name of the test, but a true synethesic will score 0.0. whereas non synethesics score 1.0 to 2.0.

My personal preference is somewhat medieval. (Yeah I'm probably that old too). Give me medium light weight hand made Iideally by me) iron chain which has been heated to bright red and dropped in to a barrel of oil to give it that sexy blue/black colour. It has a unique sound and feel and to see a girl in a shirik made of the chain makes me want to do strange things to her body Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm definately a wicked evil grinnnnn.

Synaesthesia & BDSM

I am synaesthesic. It is a blessing and something I would feel totally naked without.
It makes me who I am, it causes what I paint and how I view the world.
I couldn't say if play or relationships are much different to others, simply because its something I have always been. I don't know life without it. Every word written by everyone here is a 'physical' experience in itself. I guess thats why words are so important to me.

What I do know is that I wish that everyone could experience it. I once heard someone compare it to being on LSD... (no wonder I am like I am...lol)... goodness knows what it would be like to have syn and be on LSD......

I would definately feel a loss without it. It is, as has been decribed before, the seventh sense that not everyone else has... and I feel truely grateful for being allowed such a gift...

I am a music/color synaestesic. I did not realize until I was older that not everyone can "see" music. Music will have an effect on my mood, but it has never been incorporated into play.

ive never taken LSD, but i have taken Ketamine. Very similar hallucinogenic.
You know how colours appear in front of you, mine are usually like a mist a few feet ahead or around a person who is talking. On ketamine, the colour encompassed all of me, every cell of my being was within that mist. Like the northern lights all around you. But that was mispent youth, and not a recent thing.
Personalities have colours as do voices, and green or red people are lush! All of my good friends are in this colour. I use it to weed people out too. Its never wrong, even when i am. I have now learnt not to ignore it.

Ive used my syn to enjoy play, i seriously recommend it. Subspace in syn mode is AMAZING compared to getting there without its use.
I too would like everyone to experience it, but we cant all be gifted lol. Unfortunately, mine is produced by the usual brain mispatterns of half blind and epilepsy in my history, so it comes at a price. But one id be willing to pay. I can sit and paint for hours on end. I get lost inside it, and suddenly 7 hrs have passed

and its rush to get done what id set for that day.

I visited a web site, devoted to artists with this, some of the works were amazing. Any chance you could send me a photo of one of your works? Id love to see what you see.
