Gwyn dear, you realize this is pretty much a wash at this point. You need a list of twenty shows at the very least, in multiple choice format as well as a 'where the heck is MY favorite, argh!' selection. At this point people can't re-vote even after it changes right? Just sayin. I am a leaf on the wind.

Having read the Dune series, and being an avid fan of the original movie (with Patrick Stewart et al), I have to vote DUNE. My Sir thinks it amazing that I can quote dialogue with my eyes closed. But then again, my first Master had me tattooed as His with the name 'Imzadi' from Star Trek The Next Generation. ((For anyone wishing to know the meaning feel free to email me and ask....))

I'm very surprised that the absofragginlutely BEST show of all time, in "any" category, only got 4 measly votes. Babylon 5 ~~RAWKS~~!!!!!!!!!! Every episode was great. The plotlines held your attention, and the writing was sharp. Each episode had more than one storyline going on in it. And no matter how serious the theme of a show might be, you just knew that somewhere, something funny would pop up. It might be no more than a single line of dialog, or a sight gag, but you knew it was coming. Classic example: near the end of an episode when all sorts of things go awry, Zack Allen (Jeff Conaway) says something like "what else can go wrong today?" as he stands at the gate where new arrivals enter the station. And sure enough, right on cue, a group of Elvis impersonators files in to B5. Elvis impersonators??? In the year 2259?????? How nutty is that?? The absolute funniest episode of all is "Acts Of Sacrifice", from Season 2, I think. That is just totally fall on the floor, roll around, laugh till you cry, hold your sides cause they hurt, pee your pants funny!! And what makes it funnier still is that it is played straight, not as comedy. DUNE was another great show. I've seen both movie versions, and if I had to choose between them, I'd have to say that the original version is the best. I like the casting better, and Kyle MacLaughlin, well, what can I say, other than YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM......... I did like some elements of the second version of DUNE though. Now, if they could combine the two, that would be nice. I tried to read the original Dune book a number of times. But it was so poorly (oddly) written, that I could never get past the first few chapters. I was very pleasantly surprised that the movies turned out to be so much better than the book. I love the Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis shows. Watch them all the time. The new series "Dr. Who" isn't bad, although I like the former actor who played him (Christopher Eggleston??) better than the current one. There's some outstandin comedic moments in the series. The special edition version of the film is excellent. The theater release had some bad edits, IMO. Atlantis has its moments, too, but I just cannot stand the way "Rodney" is played. BattleStar Galactica. Wow. At the top of my list with B5. Wow a fellow geekophile. Niiice! never got into Battlestar Galactia... even though I got tons of Swag from them when I was a Media whore. I ended up giving it away to my fellow geeksters. I still remember the look on his face when I said Zooty Zoot Zoot at him.. chuckles Surpised I survived it. Gwyn Zooty Zoot Zoot! Hahahaha Oh, absolutely, Gwynny, I'm a Sci-Fi geek from waaaaay back. I recall the first books I read were sci-fi. Andre Norton's "The Stars Are Ours" and an Alan Nourse one about "Spacers" who lived out by the asteroid belt but were sterile somehow so had to kidnap Earth chicks (hmmmm) and a really early series about an old eccentric dude who was actually from the Mushroom Planet. Tycho Bass or something like that. That was in the 2nd grade I read that, IIRC. I used to read those old Ace Doubles, too. They were very cool. Older kid used to end them to me and I'd read them at night under the covers with a flashlight. Funny, most of the kids I knew read Sci-Fi went on to become counter-cultural types, or scientists, or some other cool stuff, and the plodding dolts became the Republican base. [8D]
