Nah, not really.  In fact our genetic material is one thing we know absolutely that we don't have to keep together.  One thing having the Y does give us that is still useful - we have WAY more genetic material and a longstanding tradition of not keeping it all together, but spreading it all over the place.  Moreover, if we run out we can make more.  Your average 14 year old boy accidentally expells more viable genetic material in a week than the average woman has to work with in her entire life.  Moreover, while science seems soon to be able to provide a method for parthenogenesis, it is that first mass race to the prize that is the first of this harsh worlds competitions.  No way to replicate that without someone with a Y chromosome involved.  Eggs have no tails.

But this thread is about women, not gender equality issues.  The problem is that no one answer really applies 100% to all women.  It is easier to go with generalities (even if they cannot be applied in every case).  Women can have babies.  Really that should be enough reason to love them.

it is wide known the spreding of seed.. and gentic material.. not worried about that. ( ok.. my one case I am kinda concerned but that is another matter) I am worried about the health effects of the Y chromosme shedding it's DNA. to me that is scary. ( no equality or non equality here.. just worried ya'll are going to become extinct as we know it. )
