ORIGINAL: katie978 Practice makes perfect. Kneeling is not the most natural position...the first time you try it, it's bloody murder on your legs and joints. Eventually, it hurts less and less. I suggest you spend a few minutes kneeling each day, if you can. Eventually you build up the muscles for it (or immunity from it, I suppose). i'm going to gently disagree with you. sometimes, pain means STOP THIS RIGHT NOW. example, i have damage due to knee surgery that caused some of the nerves to be permanently severed in my left knee. since there are numb places, kneeling (for me) is quite risky...i cant tell if i'm positioned ok, or if i'm putting weight on the knee and hurting it more till i stand. the knee collapsing means i did it wrong, and am going to pay by having to wear the knee brace and be on crutches a week or so. no thanks. some peope can build up tolerances, some cannot. kitten
