I never thought we had 1 million $ sitting anywhere nearby.  I recall a day when turning over 1 partopotty was a prank.

Not mentioned in the article is that the site was prior to this a planned hazzardous waste incinerator. Slicksters from Philadelphia thought they could site it here.
It was one heck of a battle. The local paper did some great invstigative reports.  Even tho I own "some" of my home- there are guys who own alot more prpoerty then I do.

I should mention local carpemters were protesting another site -recently that "imported" all the tradesman.  [who may or may not be legal]

Gosh- it could be a bunch of teens or ?????

Well, it seems obvious more than one individual was involved.  I've never understood this impluse to destroy...from 'tagging'  to viruses to vandalism to televangelism...I do NOT get what the payoff could possibly be.

I hope they catch the sh*theels and that they do hard time, but this could be the death kneal of the subcontractor which owns the destoyed equipment and perhaps the owner of the field.  Very, very likely insurance will prove inadequate, and once paid out, the policy will be cancelled and the owners considered uninsurable by other carriers.

It is a nine days wonder no one was apparently injured.  And this business of a 'master key' is insane.

I am sorry to hear this has happened, pahunkboy, and I hope everyone involved comes out of it okay.

Uhmm... did you just suggest that televangelism is a form of destruction of property?

most crimes locally are solved- penalities are heavey handed. if one apears before a judge here- one IS guilty.

at times I hated the heavy hand here, but it does have a good side.  we send our share of bad boys to state prison.  [yup- I checked]

I think she takes great joy in making no sense whatsoever. As long as she's talking- she's happy.

On the other hand, that sucks for the contracters. I had a friend get his 30 thousand dollar forklift  trashed when someone decided to mess around with it. :(

Oh I completely agree, my heart goes out to the contractors.  I have some friends out west that have had their projects taken back to the stoneage by a couple of "environmentalist" groups... you know the ones that sound like that tv sitcom from the 80s.

the contractor could ave done this to himself for the insurance pay off.

I can follow the pink posts.

I doubt the damager had any idea of enviremeentalism.  it is red necked pick up truck riffle area here.

Gawd, you are right pahunkboy.  It is akin to arson in the total destruction of the underlying business, and possibly some business interruption insurance will be paid out.

I hate to think that though, even though it has a patina of rationality.  If it is the case, I am without doubt they will not get away with it...the insurance investigators who will be assigned will be top notch, even if the local police department is not.

As to the reference to televangelists...well...I guess I did ramble a little bit...but some do have a history of aggressively pursuing a follower's last dime without concience and to me, that is a form of scorched-earth.
