I got bored so today I started going from sex store to store looking at what they had. And I noticed that the smaller the store the better it was for a none vanilla... I’m up in Skagit county Washington and the only way for most pepole to get good quality fetish and bondage gear is to order online. But I would like to bring a little bussing to these friendly little shops of delight. So today’s line up is "love zone" on 4227 meridian st Bellingham Washington. I walked in and was greeted with an honest to god smile. The women behind the counter was friendly and answered all my questions I had of there products, like what was the best seller for women" beyond 2000" was the most popular. Plus unlike places such as lover’s package they even had supplies for medical play and even plus size gender bending starter kits along with size fitting.

I travel frequently and always try to stop in the local shops.  I am so dissapointed in what most shops have to offer and how their wares are presented. Most of them still have a pornographic feel or are still located out near the airport.

The best two shops I have visited are Northbound in downtown Toronoto, and Good Vibrations in the Mission district of San Francisco.  Northbound is just so cool to go into, very good presentation.  Good Vibrations is what all toy shops should be like, very friendly, awesome lighting and very inviting.

I just picked up two stingers from a little shop up in Baltimore, MD last week.  Can't remember the name though.  Excellent selection of floggers, whip, and other similar toys.  All or most made by their in-house leather crafter.

I was just in your area a few weeks ago to attend In The Woods 2008 in Ferndale.  There were several venders attending with quality fetish and bondage items including medical type items and hemp rope at good prices.  Last weekend some friends of mine attended the vender fair at The WetSpot in Seattle which is only a bit over an hour's drive from Mt Vernon.  I'm certain The Triskeli Guild in Bellingham could point you in the right direction to locate any gear you are seeking within the local community.

I've been to both stores you named although it's been awhile since i lived in that area.  It's easier to chat with the clerks in the store in B'ham as it's a very small intimate place.  The clerks can be behind the counter and basically talk with you while you shop.  On the other hand, Lover's Package is a large store and one must go to the counter to ask any questions.  I've found both places are friendly and will supply the information i require.  I've found some great clothing deals at Lover's Package including a plus sized leather corset top on the sale rack for $15.

My personal preference for locating and buying items include events, vender fairs, and munches.  Those are places where you can often find local craftspersons who make quality items at affordable prices.

You might be able to do your updates using the Skagit Yahoo group.  If you're interested i can look them up and give you the URL.  It hasn't been a terribly active group, however, it only takes one person with the time and determination to get a group moving again.
