Aside from an O-ring (like my boy's wedding ring), I can't think of anything that hasn't been used as just a fashion statement (like collars and leashes), so I wouldn't make any judgments about people based on what they're wearing (unless at a fetish event). I suppose that if you have a tattoo that says "i am lower than a worm" on your forehead, it could be a clue....
