after over a year of ownership, i've finally decided to collar my pet however we're having a double collaring. he'll be presenting me one to show his loyalty, commitment as well as his submission to me. i'm in the process of finding a collar for him to wear that won't be so outward kinky.

there's another part to this but we're still discussing it before taking that major step.

merely wondering if other Mistresses had a double collaring.

I have not heard of a "double collaring" before, where the sub is also "collaring" the Mistress.

However, when I collared my partner, he did give me a beautiful silver neckring from Georg Jensen similar to this:

BTW, he is not the kind of guy to wear neck jewellery of any kind, discreet or othewise.

I don't consider that double collaring so much as recognizing that as fantastic as wearing a collar might be 24/7 it may not be practical depending on one's job, one's desires, and even one's body/mind.

Fox has a collar for kink events otherwise he had a necklace because wearing the collar too often was triggering memories of childhood abuse -- I can fully understand that cause anyone touching my neck with my permission each time gets a violent reaction from me for the same reason. Now he has both ears pierced as of almost two years ago to mark my ownership.

Collars are merely physical symbols of the commitment to the dynamic, nothing more and nothing less. They can be whatever you want. You may have to try different things over time to find a good match for him and you. As long as you keep the communication going that shouldn't be a huge problem.

Thanks MsC for the handy links. I was browsing and shopping most of the morning with my pet.

For his type of position and job, wearing a collar (like my Turian received from Daddy) wouldn't be acceptable since he travels a lot. However I did find something special on hollywoodtribal which i liked.

I see where you're coming from that it wouldn't be a "double collaring" per se but the happy occasion does lead towards the next step for us.

=) Congratulations, I hope everything goes well for you, too. I've seen or heard of a few couples where the dominant wears a collar as well. I would assume they see it like a wedding ring, they both wear one to signify they are taken. My Pet and I both wear burgundy cotton bracelets. They don't send out to the world that we're taken, but I know she thinks of me when she sees hers. And I think of her when I get frustrated that it never dries after a shower. While any item of jewelry could work, you may want to google "day collar" and see what comes up. There are a few sites that offer discreet, but obvious collars. Perhaps a tight necklace will suffice. =P

I've heard about a double collaring, and I think it holds a beautiful symbolism. Of course, the two collars have a different meaning - but it shows that both are committed to the relationship.

Instead of a double collar my Master and I exchanged diamond earrings - He wears one half of the pair and I got my ear pierced to wear the other, then we put them on each other. It is our physical reminder that the other one is always with us no matter how far apart we may be. It is nice to have a physical reminder of your partner that you can reach out and touch whenever you want.
