All my life I have been viewed as different. Especially by my family. I think it started first when I ate sand and then when I first started walking I walked with my hands on the ground. Like a monkey child. [:D] My family called me the weird one. I have always been a little outside the box and I like it that way. But here on Collar Me I feel like I fit in (so thanks). So it got me to wondering.....how many of you grew up feeling like black sheep? How many were just your normal typical popular kid in high school..cheerleader or popular jock? Sit down, here have some lemonade[sm=chug.gif]and tell me your story....

same here. I was a mouthy kid that called bullshit when i saw it. My mother did not like me much.

It's funny that I stumbled across this thread today because I've been thinking A LOT about this lately. I am DEFINATELY the black sheep. No doubt about it. I love all these alternative lifestyles. I fit in without blending in. It feels great.

Got a Black Sheep here. among other things I am the only one to move REALLY away and stay. The rest of my family lives with about 15 miles of my parents and I am about 400 miles away. Probably just as well as my dad would go ballistic and my mother would have a heart attack if they say what all I have posted and hanging on my walls[:D]

B-a-a-ad bla-a-a-ack sheep here. I've always loved to go my own way and that often means going against the flow or forging a new path. The rewards for me far outweigh any negatives. Also, I've found that I get shorn far less frequently.

i was a bit of both....black sheep, but pretty popular and well liked in spite of it. (or because of it,[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m21.gif[/image] who knows?) ~african-american sheep <-----wants to be sure she's P.C. no need pissing off the media....

I did things that little girls of my time didn't do - I played with trucks and motorcycles as much as dolls, I wanted to be the first woman in space, I was the first female to take all three years of auto shop while at the same time winning awards three years in a row for stage presence in choir. I teach reliability engineering and chair international committees yet come across as feminine. I preferred to choose my own way rather than to fit in, and I'm proud to say my grown daughter followed in my footsteps. We are both enigmas, but I think that makes someone infinitely more interesting.

I had hypothesized that we are a group of blacksheep. But I didnt want to jump to any conclusions. So now we ALL get to be part of the "In" crowd!!!!

Sorry lushy - purest white am I. Part of it of course is because I never ate sand; just couldn't get the knack of it. And then a downhill spiral within the flock due to my continuing purity and innocence. I'd love to be black, but some of us will never make the grade.
