This is quite amazing and to my knowledge,unprecedented. What does this mean? How the fuck does a Senator not go,to his own parties convention? I think the explanations will be as interesting and funny,as this news. There are also a number of republicans who are leaving McCain`s campaign,as well. UUUUUmmmmmm.......excuse me! notice the source of that report???? i do not trust the media! they report only what they want. if it will sway something in their favor they report it. if the info is in opposition to what they believe they ignore it! the only rag i read is the "National Enquirer"..... .........nuff said! i say WTF!?

Did you happen to look into the reason why they aren't attending? Craig, Stevens, Allard (aka Dullard by his own constituents) and Hagel are no surprise. 3 of which are retiring, and one may or may not be legally able to... The other 4 are in heated races, and feel that the time would be spent better in their states campaigning, out of this 4 possibly 1 would be doing it because or who the nominee is. Nice spin on it though.

Owner - Maybe its just a matter of integrity. A concept that may be unappreciated by a party who elects a plurality in Congress on a platform of ending the Iraq bloodbath and then voting to fund it 3 times, the last time extending it to June 2009. No funds - no war. A no vote would have meant no funds. However, there is the rationalization apologists who give the excuse that a majority isn't a majority just like a blow-job isn't sex. Sorry about the President Clinton reference but it again explains the confusion you may be having about integrity.

Wish it were - reality for both parties and their members from my vantage point. With nothing presented to veto - there is no relevance to the point. However there was an opportunity to have a clear demarcation between the parties. As it stands if this is a primary issue for anyone, remember in the last vote which insures another year of wasted US blood and resources, Senator Obama - YES, Senator McCain - NO. Someone needs to take Owner's pom poms away from him. So Owner, will any explanation satisfy you, or have you already decided only one explanation will do? Personally the Republicans deserve a destruction of their party. They gained control of congress long ago, based upon certain promises that they did not keep and some they actually went the other way on. If the country stays so polarized to the left and right, it will continue to tear itself apart. Only those on the extreme left and right can take a step towards the middle and compromise. How about we all agree on being Americans and at least try to work things out? As far as these polticians not going, Thadius' explanation seems probable.

You are presenting your own answers, while disagreeing with any plausible ones presented by others... At least ones that don't fit into your picture of the puzzle. How many Dems aren't attending the convention? See where I am going with that question? The way you presented the topic is a show of where your feeling is on the topic. What proof do you have that the reasons given by the 4 candidates in tightly fought races aren't factual?

What's up with Pelosi and Reid? They promised to keep the house and senate working a "5 day week" and all they do is have recesses! We should be out of Iraq RIGHT NOW! That's what they promised us!
