Well -  it would seem to be "do as i say, not as i do"     -  and just to be saying  -  i live in Arkansas - and if someone tries to take my a/c, they had better have a gun or a ticket back to New Zealand.           Humidity and heat are not my friends!!

It's alright. I'm sure that Al Gore would understand.

And the "Blame America" people *continue* to insist that the U.S. is the world's leading polluter! LOL!
They panned on that "bird'snest" stadium from about half a mile away the other night and you could barely see it from all the smog! lolol!
Fucking Los Angeles isn't a tenth as bad as that!
Oh, did you hear that Al Gore bought a 100' long yacht?

NeedingMore220 -> RE: So Much for the China/NBC's Green Olympics! (8/16/2008 11:34:21 AM)

This just kinda makes me shrug my shoulders.  It may be the only way they were able to keep breathable air circulating.  Jeez, usually you can't see clearly across the street - can you imagine how bad all that smog is on the lungs?

Thadius -> RE: So Much for the China/NBC's Green Olympics! (8/16/2008 11:39:49 AM)

One does need something to go along with the private jet...

pahunkboy -> RE: So Much for the China/NBC's Green Olympics! (8/16/2008 11:55:57 AM)

IMO something is lost in the translation. Air conditioning likely means   HEPA, not cooled air.

It is true about Al Gore- his house a a huge waste.   Bushes ranch is green.

Yes But... but... Gore pays indulgences to the Chur,,, Sorry... Gore pays Carbon Credits to the Green Movement.

Personally, I think this climate change due to man is nothing but political hogwash. Have you noticed how those who are active in the anti warming crusade all seem to be doing well both financially and politicaly. What they, the wealthy people can do to save the planet, is a whole lot different from the common man who is just trying to survive in the cruel world created  by the wealthy and powerful.

It irritated the hell out of me recently, my city again hosting the international fireworks competition, and it a quarter of a mile from me, all that chemical detonated in the air, thousand of pounds worth of explosive. Explosive which I understand was limited this year due to the Chinese restrictions on the export of fireworks due to the Olympics. Then we have bonfire night, all that burning of wood and again more fireworks. The day after, the smell in the air is the acrid smell of cordite every time.

Motorists are crucified financially for the pollution from their car exhausts, yet we allow fireworks, and bonfires, not to mention all the munitions detonated in the various wars we have become embroiled in.

China was told they had the Olympics on conditions, well, it is my thought, the Chinese rulers when told this had their fingers crossed behind their back, bigger fool the rest of the world. China will dominate the world and it will not let puny attempts by the west to halt it's rise.

There is much to be said about the saying, ''Where there is muck, there is brass''

Yes, but said yacht runs on hopes and dreams and outputs not pollutants but magical rainbows.  Also, it is captained by a three-legged unicorn, which is very eco-friendly, don't you know.

That was great. [sm=LMAO.gif]

"YES WE CAN RUN ON MAGICAL RAINBOWS!"

I can visualize Kaptain Kerry at the helm too. "Did I mention I was in Vietnam?"

Did you ever see the comparison between The Bush's Ranch in Texas and The Gore Plantation in Tennesse?

One is completely green and eco friendly and one is carbon sucking monsterd

Guess one which.

Fireworks were short this year due to the massive explosion and destruction of one of the major suppliers of fireworks in Sansui, China.  Exports were down 40% due to the explosion.

I could care less about China. They have undercut us globally, and no...it's isn't free trade when you have to compete with near slave labor.

Outside of pollution issues....they treat their own people horribly, and think nothing of skinning animals alive that you and I keep as pets for fur and food. How barbaric. No one needs to wear furs anymore.

I am not very PC am I.

No you are not and thats a good thing!

Welcome to the forums.

Steponme73 -> RE: So Much for the China/NBC's Green Olympics! (8/17/2008 6:21:19 PM)

China could care less about being green.  Al Gore, is looking to be popular with the loons in Hollywood.  And of course everyone in Hollywood blames the average American.  This is the American way!
