I believe in happily ever after with the right person.
The key is finding the right person, many attempt to make this
happen with the wrong person.
The key is finding someone that you can be happy with for a lifetime.

Gwynvyd -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 9:02:37 AM)

*smiles* I am getting over the anguish.. but it is a long process.

I am so used to being a Island unto myself. It was only after totaly surendering ( and I had no idea what the hell that ment until that point) did I realize that I didnt have to be that island.

I can do it.. but I realy do not want to any more. It just *might* be ok to allow others in.. and to trust them.

I have always decorated my own garden instead of waiting for others to bring me flowers.. but that doesnt stop me from wanting someone to bring em.

Torn between two worlds I guess.

Thankfuly my life and it's struggles have shown me I am strong enough and woman enough to do for myself.

I am human enough to want compainionship with all of that being said.

Happiness is inside of me.. either way.

Gwyn

im a dreamer so yes but agrees with it takes alot of work... so if it takes alot of work than is it happily ever after, sounds like exhausting ever after... but still i believe

Totally yes, I believe in that. However it isn't something I will find with someone, it is something inside of me. I will live happily ever after with myself.

Prolly sounds stupid but thats where I am right now, finding that out.

Nothing stupid about that. Before you can find happiness without you have to find it within. People seem to either ignore that fact or take it for granted.

when i was young (so many moons ago), i did. however, when that fairy tale bubble burst, my ex slapped me with a divorce.

Does "contently ever after" count, even if the handsome prince turned into a pumpkin? [;)]

lilsubl -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 3:03:36 PM)

**FR**

i am like so many others who have responded...i've had my one & it didn't work out the way i thought would bring me that happily ever after...in fact i had 2 shots at it with him...like Level said, love can definitely last a lifetime...i know because i have loved the same man since 1974...our relationship has changed & evolved over the years until now we are much like sister & brother...we still love each other deeply & are integral parts of each other's lives...

after he & i "broke up" the second time, i felt something inside of me had broken & it has taken me all these years to finally let someone else in...& this relationship isn't based on love at all...i've been alone more of my life than i have been in relationships with others, unless you count Mr. Cat & Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog...i suffer from chronic, lifelong depression & anxiety, but many who know me apply the Pollyanna label to me, because i nearly always choose happiness over misery, & insist on seeing the bright side of things...sometimes i forget & fall through a hole, but as soon as i can, i'm right back up again...i've had my share of trauma & tragedy, but i've also had more than my share of joy...i feel blessed for all that has been given to me in this life, including the trauma & tragedy, because out of that, i have become me & i will make every attempt to continue to be happy ever after with me & my family & friends who i adore......

Thank you to everyone who has shared in this thread!

I had hoped that it wouldn't become laden with cynicism and negativity, and it hasn't.

I'm actually pleased to see that belief and hope in happily ever after is still alive for some.  [sm=cute.gif]

stormgirl -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 5:50:06 PM)

oh dear.  After that I am loathe to say - not for me.  Maybe I do know some people who found their happiness, but ever after  . . . I believe in happiness sometimes.

I may be the only one, but I don't think we alone make our happiness.  There are circumstances, events, actions, and victims and beneficiaries thereof.

Steponme73 -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 6:17:58 PM)

You can find happiness everafter...but not all the time.  In the big picture of things yes, it can happen, but just remember there are going to bumps & diversions along the way.

beargonewild -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 6:39:54 PM)

Let's see......
I believe in.....
unconditional love from puppies and kittens,
the bogeyman isn't all that scary,
hell hath no fury like a pissed off drag queen,
lots of booze = less clothes,

Jeffff -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/17/2008 6:49:29 PM)

Yes.

HAHAHAHAHA.

Oh, that sounds kinda cynical, eh?  Sorry.  [8|]

shivermetimbers -> RE: Do you believe in.......? (8/18/2008 4:54:48 AM)

Yes. It's not like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, opening child proof pill bottles, those things we learn are fallacies.  Happily Ever After is the one thing that never dies in any of us, a real life pursuit some have found, some are activily seeking, and the rest just haven't started on the journey, but will soon.
