And I don't think your analogy is apt. If she knows she can't tolerate ginger or any chemical burns, then she'll speak up. It isn't as though he knows what his reaction will be, he won't.

He's doesn't want to go whole hog into it.. he's seeking out information. The guys been on collarme for over a year, so all your assumptions are just that .. you're assuming he hasn't read the forums, that he doesn't know who will pass on quality information etc. You have no idea if he's already googled, but prefers some interactive information.
I agree with Michael. That whole 'try it on yourself thing' is one of the most useless ways to gain information on how any particular activity is going to effect 'a' person and is, generally, pretty poor advice. How I react to ginger is not automatically going to be how someone else reacts so what's the point of trying something on yourself? He's seeking general information regarding a fairly benign topic. What the hell.. you expect that he should take as gospel something he might read on the net, but any information he might get here is fraught with useless diatribe? Did it ever occur to you that he might have googled ginger root and been pointed to this site? We've had a few threads on it after all and if you type in 'ginger root punishment' the very first thing that pops up is an article written by a member of this site (which happens to be my very own Himself.. ::grins::) .. so, there ya go. How about a little break for the newly seeking here - someone who's actually trying to get some information before jumping off the cliff feet first.
