Hi all

I have been having issues with someone on this site - who got nasty with me because I refused him. He continuously every day, sent me chat requests for the last 3 months, even though he was on my blocked list. I spoke to the moderators. They sorted it.

Now he's taken my old profile name and had made a new profile (without pics or description, just like his own) and is posing as myself.

I am actually very concerned, since he is a very forceful kind of guy and when he doesn't get his own way he gets very verbally nasty and one of his many comments was "it must be nice having a child from a night with a client" basically calling me a whore. Who knows what else he could end up doing.

What else to do eh? I've contacted the moderators but I don't know quite what else to do in this situation.

I don't want to leave this site by any means but this ass is making it difficult for me.

If its online only- then put a brief statement in your profile "FYI I have someone who seems to be posing as me here. Sorry for the inconvenience" and then ignore ignore ignore.

when he was sending me the chat requests i didnt even decline them because he's see i was acknowleging him. this guy is a real nasty piece fo work and doesn't live all that far from me which is worrying. he doesn't know where im from but none the less it still makes me wonder.

i have already put something on my journal to say its not me.

ho hum we'll see what happens. its a shame there are so many f*cked up individuals on here.

if i may....you can lure him into a chat, and, expose him ,so everyone knows whos who
he doesnt sound like the mature guy or a brainy type...so not much ,to worry about there
sorry i took so long to ans you but i saw your pic on post and went into a trance either its you and your striking pic or it's, cause i'm being zapped ,in the back of the head into a stupor
anyway titles and names are all legally aggrivating but intentional deceit is how you can confront the goono issue by issue
i would report a stalker by length of time; first appearance ;and last 4 words said before a verbal or any type of assault.
dont know who or what it is
let a nosey cop do you a favor ,if he's not busy, and, dont pick up any more stalkers(think 2ce before calling that 911 disaster or business office ,too )
theyre deadly ,ususally die or willing to take your life but dont go away...
unless its a creamy top with that god voice
comming down over to track you
i picture a stalker ,as a female ,with 2 lions on a leash looking ,for me ,in sexy hunter green clothes on the hunt stalking me ,with undeterable determination....she comes out of the dark all 6 eyes gleaming and takes me into her capture,vowing,to keep me forever and do unspeakble altering things to my lowly body and make me her special beastly well kept secret all her own... no rules ;no telling what
she will do next now she has taken me for her own....sanctuary
sorry lost my mind there ,for a minute,
but, so far -
no such luck
realstalkers i experienced, and, had, to face, in reality are
no cream dream
stalkers are igno ;ugly; hatemongering gools ;you would'nt have tea ,with....

i've had this happen a long time ago, and even since then, sometimes the other person just doesn't know when to give up the ship....

What i've learned is that silence often speaks louder than any words we can say. Since you're reported this person, and have him on ignore, there probably isn't' just left to do, but to continue to ignore.

While i'm not familiar with the laws in the UK, if you feel threatened perhaps you can get a restraining order? I'd make that the solution of last resort, since in my experience that frequently makes them feel even more powerful.

Hi,

my advice on handling any online stalkers is ...

Ignore them. Don't engage them in any conversation.
Keep a record of any threats. The time, the date, what the threat was and how you received it. Keep a copy of any threatening emails, im's, chatroom chats.

Most stalkers will get bored and go away, but if it does escalate report it firstly to the administrators .. ie collarme, hotmail, whereever the threat was received via. From working in a professional online chatroom i know that people CAN be traced, even via hotmail or chatsites. The administrators can get in touch with the stalkers internet provider and have their internet access denied.

If it escalates enough that you are concerned for your personal safety real life, contact your local police station. They can put you in contact with the proper authorities.

Never give your phone number, real name or adress to someone that you don't know well.

Well, in case he reads this thread, I wouldn't have put that bit of information out. All my sympathy. I had a crazy real time stalker, and Iron Bear's solution was the only one that worked for me, but in my case, my guardian angel was a Hell's Angel.

Thank you Lass for the supporting post. Obviously discernment is required but unless you can afford a bodyguard 24/7, it is almost impossible to protect your self from these people as too many celebreties have found out to late. Good friends who have the experience, and commonsence are invaluable...

Here's hoping this one sees sense and realises there's more to life than getting even with someone - what he has to get even for, I don't know, I only refused to watch him fuck another bloke on cam.

If i may offer the advice of a full time professional computer geek, Every post made to the web contains an IP address. The moderators have access to this information, which they can easily use to identify the ISP that provides online access to this poor misguided individual. Should he continue in his harassing behavior it is well within Your right to report his behavior as hostile to his ISP.

In the post 911 world all threatening behavior on the internet is taken very seriously by all international law enforcement agencies and hence ISPs in general find it in their best interests to either correct the problem, report the person in the real world to the proper authorities, or both.

Should that fail to alleviate Your problem with this particular individual, i have no doubt that You could very easily find a "few good men" of the UK equivalent, i believe You call them British Royal Marines, who would gladly educate this miscreant on the finer points of etiquette with regard to a Lady.

Good luck with this issue and please accept my compliments on the graciousness with which You are handling this most troubling issue.

I am in no way manipulating anyone on this forum. You clearly have got this wrong, and I don't respect you for making me out to be something I'm not. I suggest if you don't agree with my situation, and are going to bad mouth me - the victim here - you take your negativity elsewhere because I simply don't need your 'advice'.

Alright, there's no need to fight among ourselves here.

MissWhippers: I'm sorry you have to deal with this guy. From the sounds of it, he doesn't seem worthy of said time. I would tell you just to ignore him and continue with your life, but it appears to me that it's not that easy and it's causing you stress.

I agree with beneathfeet on this, and some others. Keep a record of the offensive material. If you can get a hold on a piece of evidence with his IP attached, then all the better. If this person is really being extreme with the abuse, and the abuse is recorded as being the user of that particular IP address, then you can get his net supplier to pull the plug on him.

Losing his net usage is the least he deserves.

RM or RMC's would be good, but mate what about the jumpers? I of course refer to both a few lads from the Paras and the SAS... For me I have still friends in SAS as well as friends in several Spec Forces in the US and of course there are my old crowd of Mercs.. All would happily take the miscreant by the hand and have a quiet word with him.... Hmmmm come to think of it I have a couple of "Cousins" who are no longer wanted for being IRA who would get really pissed if left out.....

No fighting going on here - I said a polite request to not make me the one causing the problem. I guess some people don't think I'm being honest but I'm hardly going to start a thread as serious as this if it wasn't true, as I have more important things to be doing. But this is an issue for me. He hasn't contacted me I've ignored him, but this fake profile is just taking things a step further. The mods haven't repied to my msg, so I don't think they have done anything. Fingers crossed though, that this is the last I'll hear of him.

Why can't we all just get along??
