Ever hear a story like: Somebody stuck a cat in a microwave. When they turned it on, the cat exploded and died. Well, some people think maybe this happened, just not anywhere near them.. Nope. Here's a few I have heard, along with whether I entertain the notion that they might possibly be true. quote: All Aussie & Kiwi Doms are major Hotties and smoke the sheets. I've never met a person to smoke sheets yet. Though, I'm not doubting someone somewhere does smoke sheets. True, sure..maybe one in a million will smoke cotton or polyester. Depends on the high they get. UK doms are sadists? Well there are more extreme clubs in the UK. However I know a few dominants personally from that region and they have been extremely gentle with their property. So, no all UK doms are not sadists...a small percentage just as in this country. American submissives lured away. I've known a few to move across the world. Some you hear from and some you don't. Though you don't have to leave this country to never be heard from again. Take slavemaster into account. You can meet someone at the local coffee shop and never be seen again. No reason to travel 15000 miles to get lost. Gorean doms have secret places...well we all have places we hope to keep secret from those who really don't want to know what we are doing. If we didn't all dungeons everywhere would be open to the public. Rumors get started because people start rumors. It doesn't matter if it is D/s or not...its a rumor. I tend not to focus on what is not real and focus on what is real myself. I dig into peoples past and get info. Frankly I don't care what people believe and what they don't believe. I'm for the truth.

canadian dom's force their subs to watch hockey with them while the sub wears the hated teams uniform so that when the hated team scores the dom spanks, whips, uses the hockey stick and puck on the sub to hand out frustration. canadian subs sometimes answer a dom's request with ...EH?

oh Oh another one, Sometimes, someone named hopelessfool, clips her nails while posting on cm forums and watching tv. Oh the humanity. I never took much stock in urban legends, though I do enjoy the show mythbusters. I guess Im a weird-o for that. But I remember the pop rocks one, my dad wouldnt let me buy them because he was afraid my head would blow up if i ate to many to quickly.

Pop rocks and coke will kill someone according to urban legend--not true. However, I've seen the mentho candy and cola concoction played out on Jay Leno of course, not as described above.

I like urban legends because they usually contain some patina of possibility and some weirdness. That's not a combination I see too often.
